Lol, i overheard this while i was in the gym, we are officially the new Madrid.

I won't pass judgement on who i think should take up the post, because if they don't win something this season then i wouldn't be suprised if they end up out on their arse come May :p

Shit, wasnt expecting Scolari to get the boot. Best get my CV in, I've done a much better job with the same players on FM2009.

I wonder who they are looking at getting in? Eriksson? :D

Just been told by a man in the know that they sacked Scolari because Tony Adams had become available...

Lol @ Cho.

Early frontrunners apparently are Hiddink as the gaffer and a return for Grant as a director of football. Zola is not really for such a big job yet and it would be foolish to bring in such a Chelsea icon only for him to fall short with his lack of experience.

Zola certainly turned West Ham around, and would get alot of respect in the dressing room due to having been there before himself.

That said I dont like the way Chelsea currently operating and it could ruin his career before it even really begun.

Hiddink is always linked due to russian connection, seems he always been the opening frontrunner, though i dont know where his current contract stands as the guy seems to be a man who likes to see his contract out from past comments.

They picked some strange timing though, new manager has to work with whats there, whereas he may have had an idea on who to bring in on the transfer window to get them playing the way he wants. Surprised they didnt get rid of him a fortnight ago if they were thinking of doing so.

Could they please leave Butch Wilkins in charge until after they've played the Villa? It would be very much appreciated, thank you kindly.

I'm glad he's gone, we were getting worse and worse and worse the longer he stayed and it's better to do it now than wait till we get knocked out of the champions league.

I'm not at all shocked really, a lot of Chelsea fans, myself included were willing to give him time a while ago when things first started going down the shitter but a few months on and we're even worse and it was clearly something to do with the manager. Since he's so old it's not as if you can give him time to sort things out, he's already said he only wants the job a few years and doesnt even care if he gets fired.

Just hope we get someone good (and not old) fairly quickly. Wilkins isn't even a coach he just helps with god knows what.

I miss Steve Clarke :(

Grant and Hiddink on the shortlist apparently, and since Hiddink has ruled himself out of the job time and time again, i guess that means we'll be seeing Avram back at the Bridge, minus Steve Clarke and Henk Ten Cate

Steve Clark has been a massive loss to chelsea. A guy who knew the club inside out and was loved and respected by the players and fans alike. Mourinho rated him as the best assistant he has worked with. So what do cheslea do? get Rid. GG

aparrantly avram grant already flew into the country.

the rumours doing the rounds are that grant will take control of the club till the end of the season and then they permanent manager will be found to take over from that point.

Wonder if they gonna give grant another 10million quid pay off at the end of this lot :p

is it just me or is he grinning like a loon? :p

BBC news says they've approached Gus Hiddink, wonder if he'll say no again o_O

apparently he open to discussions about being a temp manager till the end of the season... the condition is that he remains as russia manager as well as he has long term goals for them.

Personally i feel they be better with avram grant if they want a temp manager... at least he knows the players and they know him. And he did get them to champions league final unlike some other managers they had, and almost won the league as well.

There's no way it'll be Grant. If he's in the country it's for portsmouth.

a job he wont get, as the players already spoke out against him being put incharge. And as it was the players who told the owner to fire adams now and not wait because he lost their respect (when the owner had just said he wont fire adams), then i would say that it safe bet Grant wont get it. lol

I doubt all this talk of the players having an impact tbh, I agree that there is only one job Grant is here for and it is the Pompey one.

Players have to much say now days, and if they do say the manager doesnt have respect of the dressing room then the manager screwed.

Simply put the owner has a choice.

Hope the manager gains respect of the dressing room: Unlikely to happen which means performances wont improve as players will be below par.

So leaves 2 choices:

1) Sack the manager and get someone players will respect
2) Keep the manager and sack the players.

Will always be option 1 :(
