and all because Babel cant score from 3yrds with an open goal. Lol. Even Keane would have finished that.... and rafa said that Babel and Ngog be fine covering upfront :D

Man of the match = David James for his amazing contributions to Liverpool goals. Give him benefit of the doubt on the 3rd as the defending was attrocius at 3 different points.

Goal 1 = could have cleared it without handling, even with Kuyt there (should of slid the other way, legs connect with ball, if kuyt touched it arms in a position to block.

Goal 2 = Should never get beating at your near post like that. Needs to learn from Given, that is a keeper that made some great reaction saves today.

too late to edit:

spose i better say credit to liverpool for pulling it back, especially after never looking like they were going to score for most the match. It did clearly show though that without Torres and Gerrard in the team they could have a few problems.

I felt sorry for pompey, but they were the masters of their own downfall. Torres is class, and it is such a shame that Rafa's selection policy never lets players find their form.

"Liverpool Cannot win the title with their current squad, not in a million years. You cannot just rely on 3 or 4 players throughout a season, and Liverpool are doing that, if you look at Man Utd they have; Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez." Tim Sherwood.

He is right though. We can only assume Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez were just the beginnings of a much longer list (e.g. Berbatov, Giggs, Scholes, Carrick, Vidic, Ferdinand...) and even you know that. Just because he made a slight error it doesn't destroy his argument.

Yes i know, but it sounded damn funny :) But you can add more names to Liverpool aswell imo.

Im impressed atm that the team putting together the most consistent challenge to Man Utd seem to be Aston Villa.

great manager, seems to have put a really good squad together and they seem very much on form atm. If Arsenal beat Tottenham today, I can see it being one of Chelsea or Liverpool missing out on the Champs League if they dont get their act together this season as atm, their form is atrocious.

End of the day as much as I want Utd to win the league, it's great seeing Villa gatecrash the "top 4", also Everton are pushing Arsenal for 5th place!

Next season I can see City also pushing on, so there could be 7 or 8 teams challenging for 4 places..

Why is everyone glad Arsenal are having a bad time we are one of the few teams that do things right, its all our own money we develop youth rather than buying talent (obvious exceptions) and we play better football than the majority and yet everyone seems ecstatic we have hit shit form.

Because wherever i seem to go, every Arsenal fan bleats on about playing the best football and develop youth rather than buying superstars. At the end of the day if it means you cannot challenge for honours then quite frankly it is futile.

Most people hate Arsenal because of the lack of British players in your squad.

I like arsenal for the football they play.
I dislike them because they never used to know what a English player was.

I prefer Arsenal over Chelsea and Liverpool, that is for sure. And im glad to see Eduardo is in the squad for todays game. Nice to see he is finally recovered, just hope he dont get screwed by being rushed into the Croatia team.

As for developing own youth, not strictly the case as alot of their better youngsters are also other peoples youth that they pinched :p
(but that the case with most teams)

And leviathane, it been proven that billionaires cant purchase the best players in the world... need to have something more then cash to intice the best.

I don't like Arsenal because i'm from london which means about a third of my mates are arsenal fans, the other 3rd are manu fans and the rest some random london club. And the arsenal fans have just got on my tits over the years.

Also it annoys me how they bang on about developing their own youth players when actually they just buy 18 year olds who are actually already established youth stars.

Yeah we should get a rich man to buy us for a hobby then buy some of the worlds best talent and turn them into an average boring team.

Can't wait for arseshavin to be fit and take up the right wing as is playing that liability eboue there is costing us.

As for the english player thing Wenger said when he got here it would take him 10 years to bring english players though and right on time we have the likes to gibbs lansbury wilshire ect the man is a god.

Andrei Arshavin £12 million (?)
Thierry Henry £10.5 million
José Antonio Reyes £10.5 million
Robert Pires £7 million
Marc Overmars £6 million

Just because some clubs (eg Villa and Man City) have recently splurged whilst Arsenal did it a few years ago doesn't mean you've not benefited from spending big.

Spending big when you did raised the profile of your club and allowed you to pick up quality younger players that wouldn't consider other clubs.

EDIT: I have no particular beef with Arsenal although the number of foreign players in their squad and Mr "I did not see the incident" Wenger get on my tits. But I think the best think about the current make-up of the top four is a change to the status quo.

Those playes have come in over 8 years. I don't think the signings of our first team have nothing to do with signing young players that's down to Wengers youth policy and the fact he spent big on our youth setup. Every manager says the same thing MON is partial to a I will have to watch the tape it the same thing different way of saying it.
