If Vela gets play time like Theo has had this season next year could be a big season for him as an attacker or winger. A good DM player could be all we need in the summer Yaya still one of my favorites but with the faith Wenger has shown Denilson i don't see it happening.

Arsenal got the attacking talent, that is for sure. They need to look defensive area, a solid centre back (or 2) and someone to sit by fabregas. With that they be in a good position but they do need to spend some money which seems wenger refusing to do

I dont think its money with Wenger i think its because he believes the kids are good enough. He is damned either way if he buy a established player and Diaby leaves to have a good season somewhere he gets slagged off ala Bently if he plays the kids he gets slagged for not spending money.

Arsenal have really missed Flamini imo. From what I read, Flamini wanted to stay, but contract negotiations took too long and he did one. Is that right Soze?

Yaya toure would do well at Arse, but I cant see him wanting to leave Barca

Bently was never good enough for Arsenal

We do miss him lots he worked really well with Cesc. From what i heard there was a delay while we matched the weekly wage 70k i think but AC ended up offering 100k euros and a signing on fee which we did not match.

Bently was never good enough for Arsenal

Did not stop the pundits saying he was after a good season at Blackburn and one good game for spuds.

Wenger said:
“I’m not chasing any player at the moment,” he said. “I believe my priority is to stay with the squad we have.

“We will try of course to bring in one or two players to strengthen the squad but we have plenty of strikers.

“And if we buy, it certainly won't be players who lack experience. We have enough of those.”

Does that last line read as abit off to anyone else?

seems he basically saying he got players that lack experience and wont buy anymore players like that... so guess he looking towards players that got big game experience already like everyone says he needs.

Shrug. This will only be the second time we've finished in the top six in consecutive seasons since the second World War.

True but the amount of money spent, you'd expect an improvement on last season, your currently 2points off your last seasons total.

You need to look at the point totals across the whole league though, it has been a very tight season for all the teams, lots of results not cut and dry as you would expect. Given the level of competition, even finishing in the same place as last season has been harder this year.

Chances of WBA being this years Fulham?

Fulham both deserve that European place, Fulham have been consistent throughout and zola has done a fantastic job recreating west ham. Only problem is that europe might be too much for their small squads, spurs or shitty would certainly cope better.

I'm half wanting this (WBA to stay up) to happen, i'd love it to have us face off in the prem, show them what a real derby is all about, but on the other hand seeing them get relegated would mean a new number of insults for my sh1t supporting mates.

What makes a different derby from any other?

Hull 2 down now, if Newcastle or Boro win tommorow then Hull will drop into the relegation zone :(

Because it's ours?, what would you class as an intense derby in prem, the only one i see is liverpool/man utd at anfield.

3-1 to the tescobag crew..

Baggies could stay up ... absolutely amazing.

And Everz, I don't agree. Our players completely lack motivation, our season is over. We've had a good season but our defence has gone to shit since Laursen has been out :(

I know..i feel dirty wanting them to pull it off.. would mean all 4 of the big west midlands teams will be up then. What a season that would be :D

Yeh true, losing Laursen was a major blow to you, it all went down hill when you went out of the UEFA, did you think not going for that had a knock-on affect for the players? It was a very winnable trophy.

I think the players probably wondered why they had to start their season six weeks early if we were chucking the competition. But I don't see what else he could do -- breaking into the top four with the strength of their squads and the quality of their players is going to be very difficult, we had a chance and we had to go for it.

It would be great if the Baggies could stay up. Think of all the local derbies :D Midlands > all!

If i was a player i'd be annoyed as hell, you don't get a medal/honours or remembered at all for finishing 4th, you do however by gaining honours in Europe, something which you could have done with relative ease if im honest.

It's doable, just need boro/toon to draw and Hull to carry on losing. If sh1t can sneak a point/win against pool next week then next season will be matches of pure Midlands heaven

"Ease"?! I don't think so, lol. There were a lot of very good teams in the competition still and still a long way to go even if we had beaten CSKA.

If we had beaten CSKA at home it would have been a tougher decision for him, but with it at 1-1 there was little point in pursuing the competition over fourth place. He did, though, play our first choice defence in Russia ... which was probably unnecessary and not helpful for our league campaign.

Hopefully we can get six points against Boro and Newcastle and help them down. Unfortunately, in a league table drawn up from results of games against the bottom seven, we are second from bottom. Typical Villa really.

You had by far one of the best squads in there. but true what makes it worse is that 4th was lost a few weeks after forfeiting the Uefa cup.

Hopefully, need Hull to receive a drubbing and sh1t to pick up points.. the thought of what could be next season is to good to be true :D

I hate to say but I'm so impressed with Liverpool this season, they've shown genuine mental strength.
