Other popups include: increase your <include male organ name here> by 3 inches..............

AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't suppose there is a way of tracking these cunts that send these out? Give em a taste of their own medicine!

Dont you have a firewall then? Can I have your IP address please? :)

You need to block ports 137 to 139 on your firewall, if I remember correctly. And install one.

Unfortunatly, my firewall doesnt let that shit out either - a good thing really :)
Otherwise I'd bat his pr0n collection already!

I'm nowhere near a windows PC, so I can't abuse his ports at all.

We use it at work to freak people out. Nothing makes people work harder than a well-timed pop-up.

Warning!!! Newbie question;

At the shop I have a bt router and bt broadband. I can't DCC in irc and I don't get those annoying messages here. Does that mean the router has a firewal built in? (don't laugh).

At home I can DCC and I do get the messages, so I assume no firewall.

If I enable the firewall at home (it's an option in Windows innit?)
how can I ensure I can still DCC etc - coz I like the widgee pictures that Trem sends me.

Wrong forum but it's only just occured to me. :)

Can you recieve DCCs, or can you not use it at all? If it's a router, it could be that it uses NAT to let you access the internet. If that is the case, stuff where the TCP connection is initiated from another host, will not work. Since DCC connections are initiated from the person who's recieving, this means you won't be able to send.

If you can't recieve DCCs either, then it probably does have some kind of firewall blocking off ports completely :)

Given that you have just published your IP I would get a firewall asap. I use Zone Alarm , but there are others.

hmmm this Zone alarm seems quite pricey.. anyone got a cracked version?? ;) *jk*

Any firewalls out there that dont cost an arm?

the free version of ZoneAlarm is a piss poor relative of ZA Pro (or Plus). If you want a copy of ZoneAlarm Pro I have an "OEM" version lying around here.
