The Internet is the Way Forward

yer, they're fucking huge though. You pass the runway if you're driving into Brize Norton (or Carterton which is where half the base is anyway) and you often have to stop to let planes take off. Generally there are a few people pulled up on the layby next to it trying to peek at the planes. The RAF/Police tried to stop people doing it during the war but gave up.

When I was at uni and would often drive, I would have to pass Scampton, where the Red Arrows are stationed - I'd lose a lot of time just stopped looking at them going thro their display sequence. Although here, they dont stop traffic as they are comming into land, and jesus do they pass low over the road, 50ft if that.

What was the commitment that Tony Blair made a year or two ago?

Was it that every home would have internet or every home would have broadband?

B29s, I do hope not since they're a very old plane to be fighting in recent wars ;).....in fact it was one of them, the Enola Gay, that dropped the two A bombs on Japan.

Do you mean the B52, because they were based at Fairford. I do believe the C17 giant transport planes use Brize Norton...also used to transport the bodies of soldiers back to the UK.

hehe you know what the odd thing is? I actually originally had B52s, except my brain had a meltdown and suddenly thought 'Its not B52s its the B29'. Dont ask me why, but then I edited the post *shrugs*

Ahh they were at fairford.

It could actually be any number of planes at Brize, as its the central hub for RAF transport planes (VC-10s, etc), but like you say more than likely the C-17s.

No i just think it sucks how ppl seem to rip him to shreads every time he posts something. TBH i've never noticed him being a gimp in any way, however i tend to not pay too much attention to these forums at times. My comment was just to let him know i wasn't being nasty at him, i was just making my point.
Yeah it's a bit clickey on here at times.
They have their favourites and their not so favourites.
Although I completley disagree with Krypt on this matter.
I;ve worked in the NHS for 15 years and I've seen immense changes every time the government changes. The NHS is just a bargaining chip to get them into the next term of power. Until we get the NHS out of government hands and into a private healthcare, it's never going to improve much.

How can you say that when half of us argue with each other most of the time?
