There are so many utterly fucking horrid people in blighty.

We need EU immigration simply to dilute this pikey gene-pool. People willing to uproot their lives and move to the UK for work are a bazillion times better than the sort of cunts who would even consider this.
Slightly Hitlerish there.
Mask has slipped.

Explain please.

Horrible UK people graffiti a camper van. I point out that EU immigration means there's a net increase in nice people vs horrible people in the UK - because the type of person who comes to the UK to find work tends to be someone who isn't a xenophobic dick. You say "nazi".

Or did the word "gene" automatically make you think of hitler?

I think the problem is that you believe British people to be the ultimate construct of human beings, Scouse disagrees because only pond life would do what was said above and that upset you and made you use a description that only really applies to you.

A basketcase airline that has failed to fill its seats since its introduction.

Blames brexit as the inevitable happens.

Bye Bye Honda.

Another basket case eh @Job?

Just out of interest, brexiteers, how many companies have to go before you concede that Brexit is making companies leave?

Honda has yet to confirm the plans but Justin Tomlinson, the North Swindon Conservative MP whose constituency includes the plant, said he had spoken to the company and insisted its decision was “due to global trends and not Brexit

It just happens to be 40 days before Brexit. FFS @Job, you really are in a place in Egypt aren't you? It doesn't matter if its because of global trends, Brexit is the difference between sticking it out and walking blamelessly away. Companies using Brexit as an excuse is absolutely inevitable, but it still means job losses and huge swathes of industry going down the toilet, as was predicted. Repeatedly.

I'm sure that reply had a facepalm earlier... I wonder who changed their mind.

Honda is shuttering its operations in Turkey at the same time as Swindon, as it just doesn't make sense for them to build cars in Europe any more - as no one in Europe buys them.

This news was coming whichever way the vote went tbh.

The EU trade deal with Japan has car tariffs dropping over a seven year period. If the UK was in the EU it would still make economic sense for Honda to manufacture in Europe, at least for a while. Now with only Turkey left in the Customs Union the economics of European manufacture for Honda fall apart more quickly. The closure of Turkey is a consequence of closing Swindon.

If you're a ultra-capitalist no-regulation type, the loss of car manufacturing in the UK is fine; after all, there's been global over-capacity in car manufacturing for a very long time; but the problem isn't the ultimate loss of manufacturing, its the loss of control over events. Too many things culled too quickly has an economic impact all of its own.

Well, 3 out of the 8 haven't said they're leaving yet...

I put a funny, but it's tragic.

You care to comment on @caLLous's point above @Job, as it's real news rather than some rumour-trawl from the daily express on some aggregator site you found?

Well its not a rumour..he said it, but of course just an opinion..though obviously a very informed one.

Honda might well leave..though its hard to blame it on brexit because the only people doing that are remainers and disgruntled employees.

The bigger picture is tge state of our manufacturing that that we rely on and are held to ransom..by the whims of foreign car producers who can have the pick of subsidies and sweeteners around the world.

Lol

5 out of 8 car manufacturers have said they're going to leave Britain since the vote, when before the vote they were stressing they'd be here long term.

It's cut-and-fucking-dried.
