Turamber said:Reading Uncle Sick's comments put me in mind of an economist who was wheeled out on Radio 4 yesterday. In his estimation the UK government is wise not to subsidise fuel prices, or slash taxes on fuel, as it will create momentum for alternate fuel supplies; similarly consumers will be looking for ways of reducing their petrol useage including more economic vehicles.
We all know one day (soon-ish) the supplies of oil will run out, so it does make sense to start preparing for that now.

As I came back through Norwich most of the stations were again empty and those with fuel had long queues.
