I wouldn't expect a minstrel to give me a lift as they run past... was pleasantly surprised by someone that did that the other day though :)

Generic Poster - what are your char names/server? I'll make sure you'll never have to deal with friendly guild chat from my guild :)

Well i may have worded it wrong, but i just hate seeing speed buffed classes running past me from lyon to yarleys and seeing them disapear in the distance, i hate that feeling of beeing so slow.
I had a fair few ppl giving me a lift tho lately

I went a bit overboard by comparing it with a rezz.

Pretend you're getting great xp.

Teh Seel once again can tell a story of this.

I was once at a place called [Gna Faste], just sitting by the [guard tower] where i had ended up after a long quest to get [Stronger]...

That is another story and Teh Seel will tell that another time.

...I was at the great age of 23 and was just taking a small break from all the killing and questing. I am afterall the greatest quester the world had known, or becoming one. I must have taken another [quest] by accident because from the woods runs a small [kobold], conning gray to me, with two big evil looking [worgs] behind him. I got up and since i had gotten a lot [Stronger] i klomped the two [worgs] with [ease]. Then another [conversation] started in the [Box of Voices and Colors]. It went a bit like this:

"THX THX THX!!!"

"Excuse me? I really do not understand your dialect."

"ROFL! Wanna GRP?!"

"I am assuming wanna means do you wish, or want to. But i am rather confused of what you wish from me."

Then, by the suprise of me another gray box appeared with two choises. Either [Accept]..this was a familiar one from my quest to get [Stronger] ...or [Decline]. Another conversation soon began:

"By the gods above you too have the power to create gray boxes! You must tell me how i can too become such a powerful wizard!"

"LOL LOL!!1 GRP PLZ!"

"Again you speak the language that i do not understand. Perhaps this is the quest itself."

At this point the little [kobold] didn't speak so i decided once more to take a leap of faith and press [Accept]. After this, nothign happened. There was a small notification in my [Box of Voices and Colors] that i was now [grouped] with [leetDudsor]. I assumed this was the name of the [NPC kobold]. IT was becoming dark and the moon was rising and still [leetDudsor] didn't speak. I asked him if he was allright but there was no sound. So i waited, and waited...and waited. The night was at it's darkest as [leetDudsor] spoke in a booming voice again.

"SOZ UAFK! Go kill?"

Oh joy and jubilation! He finalyl spoke the language i was thought as a young one. This was evidently another [keyword] and i assumed [Go kill?] meant to go and kill monsters. And so we did. I headed away from the [guard tower] and into the deep abyss of the [Myrkwood Forest] until i reached a place called [Skona Ravine]. I had checked if [leetDudsor] was behind me at all times and he was, almost fanatically staying by my trail, following each step i took almost in an instant. Now we had reached a place where we could [Go kill] and i began to do so. As i was going to slay a [weeping willow], [leetDudsor] screamed almost girly like:

"P+++ C!!!1! RUN!!"

I stopped in my tracks and turned to look at [leetDudsor] but he was no longer there. I looked around but i could not see [leetDudsor] anywhere. Soon, in the [Box of Voices and Colors] came an orange message saying [leetDudsor] was slain by a [weeping willow]. I must say this was yet again a strage quest as we never even got to [Go kill] as [leetDudsor] so frantikly had wished. The last i ever heard from [leetDudsor] was a light blue message from him saying:

"U n00B! FU!"

And that was all, i never did solve the Quest of [Go kill], perhaps some day i will.

The reason I don't offer lifts very ofeten is
1: you don't know where they're goin ,maybe just runnin to next mob 10 secs away.
2:they don't usually understand invite is just for lift, so you have to stop and type 'do you wanna lift?'

If you want a lift ...ask:)

Albion pet hates
--------------------

- Clerics who buffs themselves fully and have little left for the fighters/mages

- Damage Add buffers in group who do not watch for "spell has ended" messages

- Mages who, when getting hit, run like maniacs thus meaning no tanks can get aggro

- People who go AFK without any warning

- Tanks who, when pbaoe'ing, do not take mob each but insist on "all on one" approach despite PB'er dying 4 times while trying to "teach" them.

- People who do not even have the courtesy to thank you once when you have buffed them many, many times

- the reluctance of some people to fill a group with others in case they lose 1% experience per pull

and my BIGGEST personal pet hate of all

- Infiltators who, when levelling, rely on others goodwill for groups and then when 50, refuse to group with anyone cause "I can get more RP on my own". Yeah, well, I can get more XP on my own but still grouped to help you.

Damn .. that is just so funny! It sums up my daily experience with the muppet brigade every day I play.

Thank you!

Oh .. one pet ittirant/funny : the frequent invites from lvl 5 player to group. Sometimes accompanied by the odd utterance "plz lvl me m8".

Cause it doesnt cost you anything (well maybe 2 sec's) and saves none speed buffed ppl alot of time.

To me asking that question is like a pally or a cleric asking why they should rezz you when they run past your body

Ah, I see.

So on my travels I should stop and ask every single person on the way whether they require a lift.

Hmmm I think not.

... which is funny because as a speed class, I get a real kick out of running past slow people :)

What I hate most lately is people coming up to you at prydwen bridge and starting the following conversation:

[player]: gold plz
[me]: sure, here's 20g, they should last you till level 15 or so.
[player]: need 30g
[me]: uhm, why do you need 30g? (in the meanwhile I noticed that parts of their armour are already dyed black, I wonder what the 30g is for)
[player]: need itemz and wps.
[me]: you sure you don't just want to buy black dye with it?
[player]: YES!!! for dye!!!
[me]: sorry, but go hunt some greens to get money and wait for the dye till level 40 or so (I press cancel button on trade window for the 20g)

People who, once grouped with you, instantly whine that the mobs are hard enough, they aren't getting enough xp and that you should go bash something much harder - generally resulting in group wipeout.

You have no idea how much this angers me aswell!!

Also:

- Being too slow

- Kill tasks that send you a million miles away

- Kill tasks for mobs that are night spawn only

- Guards saying come back when you are more powerfull when I am level 20!

- Crap horse routes

- No ferry service in Hib over that big lake!

- People calling me names when I dont heal (either when I'm OOM or under attack)

- The hero in hib who argued for 30 minutes about keeping the cloth armour for himself because it gave him +7 dex (I was the only caster)

- Tanks that dont take aggro from casters but plod away at the mob they are on, letting casters/healers/infils/scouts die (although this is getting rarer by the day now - WD tanks!)

Worst thing EVER is: <drumwhirl> XP-WHORES

You know who they are, the ones that after/during/before EVERY pull bitches and whines that the xp is sucky, and that we cant take in more ppl, because xp will get worse, and to pet-classes to kill pets because...you guessed it.

This thing REALLY ticks me off

What a funny thread this is.

My Pet Hates....

1. Being 1 mob away from dinging to the next level, and the game decides that on that last mob, you have a third of your health left, the mob (an orange spider in this case) has the smallest amount of health left, in fact somehow he is still alive....You MISS, Spider hits for 100, you MISS, Spider hits for 130, You evade (yay), You MISS, Spider hits you for 128 - You are Dead. Then you take another 35 mins to get back to where you were. Bloody game cheats I tell you.

2. Like posted before - people who want gratzing for every single level from 1 to 40. Why? I can understand if you've taken a week to get to the next level, or if you are getting close to 50, but I don't really want to know if you are level 2,3,4,5,6... etc.

3. The XP N00bs who just whine and whine, where I was the main healer down in Malmohus helping out as I am already lvl 50, and they are like - this XP Sucks etc etc. Standard answer is - well leave if it sucks - there is a list of 20+ happy ppl that will gladly take your place :)

4. Last rant - the extraordinary amount of time that it takes to level from 36-42/43. Not everyone in the world has 5000000 hours free to get their little assassin levelled up. What they should implement is a system whereby depending on when a character was made - there should be a MAXIMUM amount of time that it takes to get to lvl 50, so if I made a Runey alt for example - I should know that if I only log him in every other week - he'll go up one level, and that say in 6 months - he will automatically be level 50 - autolevelling it should be called....

Anyway - my 2 cents

Oli - ILLU
