nice....my bb account just got error message and "pls try again"

back to beginning again....yay!

dont start again from 0, what you have dwl allready is there, only missing rest.

usually you have had change dwl patches allready in mornings and worked fine.
hmm dont remember how patches come ~1.4x-1.6x whit alott more players what now.

I got 2.5k/s from Catacombs. Then I started ToA just for the heck of it,
and got 6k/s while Catacombs was unchanged. So I closed both, started
ToA and Catacombs patchers in that order, closed ToA after both started
patching. Steady 7kB/s on Catacombs now. Don't ask me why that worked,
but I bet their loadbalancer isn't.

well it can't be any more in advance then when the servers get patched (as otherwise you'd have 1.73 servers with 1.75 patches... which I guess wouldn't work great). This forces you to either have 2 patchers, and some way of easily changing which one the clients point to, and still doesn't reduce the chances of a bottleneck when the patcher actually does go live. 10k peolpe downloading 44 megs + all those that haven't downloaded tutorials/newtowns = lots of bandwidth taken up = slow patch.

There is no client mismatch as long as the main servers are down for patching which is a 7-9 hour or so period so even though they can download the patch they can't connect to the server till it is updated and online anyway. There is nothing to stop them patching all 6 patch servers first and getting them all up asap so that people can beat the rush, what seems to have happened is that only 1 patch server came up and it was hammered badly. My only criticism is the lack of planning and foresight, there surely has to be a better way of delivering patches throughout the day, even if that means creating an installer and running a bittorrent tracker which would deliver more overall bandwidth and much better load balancing. Plus each player would only need to download once and install to multiple PC's rather than the current system of either running 2 update clients or running one and then copying the updated game to the 2nd PC. Anyway these things happen I gues but I do hope GOA look at alternate delivery methods for the future.

I'm so happy I patched when it was nice and calm. :) I had 80KB/s averagely, over 5 clients.

If doing 5 PC's wouldnt you have been better of caching it :p then you could have bragged of 1-2MB per sec upgrades...and you wouldnt waste so much bandwidth :)

Gonna take about 4 hours to download the patch with this speed, which is not normal even for patchdays. Usually get much much better speed than that from GOA so im wondering if something isnt wrong with the patch servers - or maybe thousands of people are returning for the patch :eek6:

Saving money by reducing bandwidth..prolly

Never understood why they cant bundle up the majority of files and make available for download days and days before the patch.

Additionally, all you people patching multiple machines, patch one, backup user.dat and ini's on your other machines, and just copy it all across locally, then copy back your ini's and user.dat. Dont abuse the bandwidth just coz you can.

so far 4 try whit 5kb speed and allways dwl ending, creat, hmm and again, 5th time now.
13mb missing and had dwl that ammount now several time because 6mb pregame.mpk dont come full, allways need start again, and whit huge 5kb speed.

Exactly the same issue at the same file. Something fishy going on :( Had to restart 4 times on that file now and since its a single large file it doesnt save the progress and have to restart on 13.9meg every time.

5th time it stopped there now, at 6.7meg into the file. Getting tired of this nonsense now.

AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!

Cant seem to get past the pregame.mpk file. About an 8 Mb file managed to about 70-75% done 3 times then server just dies. client waits a few mins then says error 1390. have to cancel and restart it.
4th time lucky on 13% 4.3k/s :(

I suppose we should be thankful GOA are not looking after our tax information or something important because they truely suck at this :twak: I started trying to patch two comps at 12 GMT its now 8pm GMT and I'm still on the same part I was 4 hours ago ::mad:

go into the pregame folder and delete the file and then start the patch over again (and yes it will resume)
