its the same every patch. The servers get hammered and will go slow.

Thought ppl would have gotten used to it by now.

I dont usually sit round waiting for the servers to come back up, its a first for me I think.

I think this is the first patch I've dl'd with adsl, used to have 56k and so had to dl the patches overnight when the phoneline wasnt being used, now I have 2mb i dont have that problem

I always assumed that once the patch servers came up, the rest would be up too, not complaining when I say this, I just didnt know

It's because not all the patch servers are up yet. Normally there are 6 servers to spread the load however it takes around 2 hours to upload the files to each one so we are turning them on one by one as they are updated. When they are all up and running, patch speeds should go much faster.

Ohh, I just thought you swiped harddrives with preinstalled patched games on a raid system.

Do you understand how these things should be planned and run? No, I didnt think so. There are 6 patch servers that require a copy of the 44mb patch and come configuration, that should have been done in advance anyway but regardless it doesn't take long to install 44mb of patch data and configure the server accordingly if you have planned the rollout properly. Now STFU and don't try flame again unless you actually have some useful input rather than making a point about 15 versions which has fuck all to do with the patch server problem. The patch servers should be piss easy to do and should have been done first, there is no excuse for turning just one patch server at a time, it is totally unprofessional and I know because I do this for a living.

You sir are a moron, across a 100mbit network connection you can install gigabytes of patch data in meres minute, so now please explain to me your point? Yes the config takes time but the patch servers should have been done first to avoid this problem we are having now where 25000 people are all trying to download at once. It's called proper network managment, you optimse you plan to allow reliable access throughout the day rather than 'try squeeze a beachball down a hosepipe'. The situation we have now is laughable and all because the rollout hasn't been through through properly and professionally.
