Taken me just over 2 hours for 40mb, gonna be a close call for ML2 at this rate :( Wish there was a way I could compress the patch files and start a bittorrent tracker.

Do you understand how these things should be planned and run? No, I didnt think so. There are 6 patch servers that require a copy of the 44mb patch and come configuration, that should have been done in advance anyway but regardless it doesn't take long to install 44mb of patch data and configure the server accordingly if you have planned the rollout properly. Now STFU and don't try flame again unless you actually have some useful input rather than making a point about 15 versions which has fuck all to do with the patch server problem. The patch servers should be piss easy to do and should have been done first, there is no excuse for turning just one patch server at a time, it is totally unprofessional and I know because I do this for a living.

You mean you work for GOA? Because if you don't whatever you just spoutted has as much chance as being correct as what I said. And FYI, I work in the industry too ;)

the TOA client patch is just 17megs so if anyone cant wait that long i suggest to rather patch just TOA and run this for the eve.

It doesn't require me to work for GOA, it just requires logic. Surely you must agree that getting the patch servers up first and well in advance would reduce congestion at primetime because alot of people would have already downloaded the patch well before the rush begins? It is a simle network management principle.

hey try toa clients , you will be downloading less than 44mb, and si client is even less than that :), in the meantime u can leave catacombs client download the patch while u play on toa client( u can play everywhere except catacombs).

"Im an expert at networking, I’ve worked in the business for 25 years*, I know more than you, so FYI STFU k THNX bye...."

FFS grow up, claiming you’re an expert to make your point more valid, is not big and its not clever!

*have a look at my profile, spot the mistake :X

well it can't be any more in advance then when the servers get patched (as otherwise you'd have 1.73 servers with 1.75 patches... which I guess wouldn't work great). This forces you to either have 2 patchers, and some way of easily changing which one the clients point to, and still doesn't reduce the chances of a bottleneck when the patcher actually does go live. 10k peolpe downloading 44 megs + all those that haven't downloaded tutorials/newtowns = lots of bandwidth taken up = slow patch.
