quick question for all thos paladins out there what Spec are you changeing to and why..

Both 2H and SS

Personaly im toying with the idea of getting rid of my collection of 2H and switching to SS

my spec

42 - shield
46 - chants

XX - parry
XX- slash

not sure .. . what i want in there what do u think ?

If i do this im going to be selling all my collection of 2H swords and i have 90% of them - from glowing red to blue green .. crafted and a few collection of axes and LB drops.. all slash and 16. something dps

well i guess shield/slash might be fun when parry/block is fixed, but im so tired of it now that im thinking of respeccing to 2H thrust. Some people say DONT DO IT, but i cant really be more miserable then now

I play defensive due to my Saracen heritage, so the extra AF whilst twisting and increased chance of blocking suits my playstyle, the AF cap doesn't raise for a while though.

as a paladin 2handed is not the way to go. we dont get enough points to spec twohnaded, chants,weapon and parry.

im a 2handed paladin right now, and i suck specially when i get killed by some luri ranger shooting arrows in my face.

i "think" you get 12 free points in chants and 12 free points in slash when you respec so you might be able to go

not 100% sure you the points of free, they might have been taken off you total spec points and automatically dumped into slash/chants.

Well, I was thinking of respeccing to one of the following specs:

42 shield
10 parry

now since I don't think that diamond slash is worth all those extra points I was also thinking about the next spec:

I also recommend you visit one of the weaponcrafters and get yourself a good arcanium sword and shield.

- my pellinor pallys spec
with RR you can max your slash to 50(max weapon damage)
tbh 44 slash style was only really good before the enjurance chant(Amythest slash took up alot of enjurance and the sapphire combo took less than a single amythest)

3 parry was a bit of a worry as a paladin is a defensive class but i guess slam more than makes up for it

Well, after trying some combinations I'm now thinking of the following defensive spec:

44 slash
38 chants
42 shield
25 parry

At 38 chants I'll still have the second best of all chants which is more then enough, I can easily max slash with items and RR and with 42 shield and 25 parry I'll be able to block or parry a lot of attacks.

I dont really see why everyone goes slash

im still crush and love it, sure they nerfed crush but thats only good for alb and not really that bad for me as I dont get any negative effect on any mid armour. and + damage on hib studded if I remember right

Yep crush is still good i use it still.As for palas soulfly's spec looks most suited for one.

I got sick of paladins too, so now i got a lvl 50 runie, paladins are complete crap, don't really think any respec is gonna do much goood to ya in rvr, cos as much as they are supposed to be "defensive", i know alot of mids who say they hit paladins twice as hard as a armsman, so its not only that they got shit damage, but they can't take a great deal of a beating either.

The chant line isn't all it should be, and efforts are being made by Mythic to correct this state of affairs. But putting 50 into slash would make a Paladin nothing more than a very gimped armsman without the best of his character defining attributes, the chants.

Taggart did you create the Runemaster yourself, or did a friend provide it for you?

In any case anyone who wants to "own" the enemy made a silly choice with being a tank anyway. Tanks are supposed to take aggro first and foremost, not to pile up a body count. To play a Paladin to get the best from it you have to be willing to be a team player, shielding casters, running the appropriate resist chant at the appropriate time.

I do get frustrated at times with my Paladin in RvR as it is still a broken class and in need of some loving from Mythic, but it is still a lot of fun. Particularly now with resistances to magic working better - actually killed a few casters yesterday without getting turned into nothing but a pile of ashes

EDIT: Just re-read the thread, the only people complaining they don't like Paladins are YOU Ondor and Taggart, who is still looking for his commonsense. Brush up on your English Ondy old chap, and good luck with the uber minstrel <cough>...

Vermillon seems to be doing quite well with his 50sword/42 shield/38 chants/rest parry spec.He was actually happy about his dmg output.Ive never seen one paladin with this spec complain about gimpness yet.Anyone?

Great dmg dealing, second best chants line, suits me fine. Just make sure you get a decent arcanium weapon and not some DF crap.

Palas are invaluable to groups.. they will be cheering at you after the "oh gawd ffs omg ! i resisted the AoE stun !

And the aggro chant.. rhrhrhr that is wicked stuff. keep interrupting casters with it. bloody annoying innit ?


Palas are uber. Nerf us ! (ok ok i take that back )
