My final spec is 50 slash 48chants 29 shield 13 parry

Im still undecided wether to respec..but I dont in any way feel gimped.

I block just fine and soon ill have MoB too. just got +shield stat shield so gonna try that.

Couple of good dex buffs and i block as good as anyone.

and 50slash 48chants 29shield 13parry was my spec, before I fumbled it up and ended with 50/48/27/17

48 chants = last af, quite nice, but still a bit useless, the second best af is just fine.

50slash -> un-necessary, 39+4 here, I like it

I would suggest 44slash 42shield 46chants rest parry or my spec, 39slash 42shield 46chants 20parry it's really up to you what you want.

SLAM is what you need really, believe me on this one -_-

I find lv50 slash good,hits hard only thing is the endurance cost but then again you can always get tireless lv2+

Just wait till 1.53, End Regen chant for Pallies, who said anything about lvl 50 styles costing too much end?
But i myself wouldn't go for that, just 44 crush, 42 shield, 46 chants, makes me wanna slam forever

tireless

is tireless really worth it? got tireless lvl 1 and it took 15-20 mins to get back in a combat situation.

Quality, skill, dex.

the bonus % on the shield is for shield styles

that's all AFAIK.

Nah, we've got Chants and a ghetto-rez... Grouping is probably our strong point.

We have:-

1) Slam (okay some of us!)
2) Damage Add for group members
3) Armour Factor Add for group members
4) Heal chant for group members (tho generally only any good for dots)
5) Various resist chants which can be useful in certain situations
6) Faith Heal realm ability - as good as the best cleric group insta, but only usable every 30 minutes
7) Ghetto rez
8) Best looking epic armour

We're not the finished article by a long means, always having sand kicked in our faces by armsmen 'cos of our woeful damage output, but we are an enjoyable class to play.

I respeced away from 50 axe to 42 shield and 42 axe

and my damage output sucks, but I survive longer

btw, do chants work when the pally is mezzed or stunned?

Good question! Shameful to say that I'm not 100% sure of the answer. But I think the one being run continues, you just can't change chants. However that might be incorrect. Next time I'm mezzed/stunned I'll check, instead of spamming ffs!! mezzed again!! zzzzzzz for everyone to read...

Not even that useful for dots. My level 36 AE dot hits for about 100/tick on red cons (depending on resists). That's a fair bit more than heal chant, especially as it ticks faster than healchant (4s dot vs 6s heal).

well, after spending my day at work browsing forums i am finnaly turning to the way of s&s. ive enjoyed my 2h paladin, but now that im close to 50 and will be spending more time on the frontier lands im going to need to change spec a little... besides, if they do improve paladin 2h they will probably chuck in a respec.... so here it is:

slash: 42
shield: 42
chants: 48

now i dont know if ill have enough or have spare.... but according to catacombs this should leave me with no wasted points... but it uses the US version so who knows... but im in the same situation as most.... no 1h sword or shield to switch too. im not totally decided yet, but the more i think about it the more i think i should change

and thanks to respeccing including auto train points i should have more in parry than i expected. so far so good though, alot less down time when soloing, i havnt really given it a proper test in RvR yet though.
