I'm considering dropping down a lower speed as I rarely use the internet any more for anything other than surfing and gaming, and steaming porn is really fast nowadays anyway ;)

mmmmmmmmmmmm, steaming hot pron.

Considering the speed increases -v- cost multiples, I'll stick with O2

Not bad for ADSL afaic (especially as I was streaming the queen at Wembley video from youtube during the test)

just done a test now @ 22:04 - this is pretty much the cap for me, not seen it higher :)

DL speed is 4.6mb/s - UL is 212 kb/s

I assume the next package they'll release will be 80-100mb/s prob still low upload tho

Yeah if only BT were allowed to let lose. I heard that BT are only allowed to push out new tech when they can push it to a certain amount of the population. And that is why we are so far behind these days.

Zar, we can get Gbit grade connections, some of the geek friends of mine already have them.

Although really, is there any point going above 100mbit in this age? I don't think it's necessary, not for home use anyway.

Until we're streaming a virtual world , gonna need 1-2gbs, so the wife can mooch around in a rendered shopping center.

Depends, mostly the problem is in the other end with my connections.

So until the rest of the world catches up in speed, no real use, but inside highspeed countries it IS fun to download a movie while you barely take a piss :p

I understand your point and frankly on a decent Gbit connection the limiting factor 95% of the time is the *remote* server so anything over 100Mbit is almost always wasted.

Had my 100mbit line for about 10 years now. Quite happy with it, got tv (50 channels) and phone via same for 30 euro a month.
