My sister got skin cancer after about 6 years out there and shes not a surfer - it was on her face which is clearly the most exposed bit.

It was lovely today in London. Blue skies, hazy over the river, 11°C. It felt like Spring was finally here. OK, so the mornings and evenings are chilly, but I think (hope) we've got rid of that crappy cold weather. Supposed to be 20°C on Sunday (68°F in old money). Women in short skirts and skimpy tops. Ice cream. Sunshine. Warmth. Lovely. About. Fucking. Time.

Its May in two days and there hasn't been a more than two days' in Dublin since last Autumn without (mainly) rain or (occasional) snow. I've not been able to mow the lawn once. I'm now scared of going out there.

Its actually been relatively dry over here for the last 3-4 weeks - the odd showery day but I actually had to water some of my bedding flowers that were drying out because they had been planted after the big winter rains. Lawn mowed twice and growing like crazy currently - will need a 3rd go pretty soon.

Update. Because my missus is fucking awesome, she arranged for a gardener to come in with an industrial mower this Friday to give the garden a haircut, saving me the ballache of wasting half my bank holiday weekend trying to cut wet grass. €30. Bargain.

You'd think that wouldn't you? But to be fair (to me), I've been doing lots of looking after the kids at weekends while she revises for her exams, which has meant I've not been able to mow the lawn or do the garden on even the rare hour or two of sunshine we get in this waterlogged country. So getting the garden done is kind of a thankyou from her. Like I said, awesome.

BBQ this weekend, camping in a couple of weeks. Bored of waiting on the weather to perk up.

Snowed in Nottingham in June a few years back...

Pretty crazy - todays was quite widespread from Cornwall accross the welsh borders and in Yorkshire. Forecasting below average temperatures into June due to yet another high pressure front stuck to the Northeast of us.

We had some freak weather system that blew in 3 days of snow in May in the south of France a few years back. You never know what's going to happen.

Grey, dreary, painfully depressing, cold, miserable, pissing constantly, bad for Britain.

2 weeks ago it was 40 and the wind was a warm as a hair dryer. Living by the coast in England warm wind was not something I expected unless it came from a human.

Deserts aren't necessarily hot.

Lovely day today, quite enjoyed my drive into work.

Now that's a politician you can trust.

As opposed to:

Socialdemocrat who let his wife use his apartment against the rules for representations, then he left the goverment and bought a mansion and laughed all the way to the bank.

Deserts aren't necessarily hot.

Its true you can have ones in temperate regions but they tend to be hot as you need to lose more water from evaporation than you receive as rainfall.

So its the end of May, almost June. Practically summer. I'm looking out the window, its grey, breezy, looks like its going to chuck it down. I would give my last Fox's Classic to wake up and see this view

Makes me want to go on holiday. Again.

No so bad today, but yesterday I needed a coat. On the 21st of May.
