Otoh I guess I could post a pic to show what I've done to Windows XP Pro ... which is to turn off all the 'spiffy' stuff such that if I didn't make it put the version on the desktop you'd think it was still Windows 98 . Hmmm, shame I have nuked the old Win98 install now, else I'd see if I could get the old icons for 'My Computer' et al to complete the retro effect.

I downlooaded and installed this smartxp bar thing but when I load it up it stays for about 5 seconds and then disappears again. Anyone got any ideas whats wrong?

It autohides. Move mouse to the edge of the screen and it should pop back up again
