You only have to walk into GAME to see what effect the price is having on the PS3.

In Meadowhall there is 2 GAME shops and both have the PS3 right at the back with the 360/wii sharing the front spots in the shop.

Its just the price it just puts me off straight away most places are doing PS3 bundle for £425 its almost half a grand straight away and thats without all the extras you'll probably want to buy for it.

Add to the fact the 2 free games you can pick aren't really that great just tips it for me i'm afraid.

I want to like the PS3 because it has alot of nice features but theres just the price/list of games out atm that put me off big time.

Hmmm. I just priced up an Xbox 360 bundle on play. I "bought"

1 x Xbox 360 Elite - £330
1x Gears of war - £40
1 x Forza 2 - £40
1x Wireless controller £30

That comes to £440. I chose the Elite because it's as close to a PS3 spec-wise you're going to get. Now I haven't done maths in a while but isn't £440 greater then £425? Isn't the cheaper option also the one that'll play next gen discs out of the box?

Add the £100 HD DVD drive and you have a similar machine.

Adad a couple of things i would say is another advantage of the PS3 is you dont need to wait for the UK release of a game i got 4 game shipped to me from the states for £90. If you shop around and are lucky like me then games for the PS3 can be real cheap.

Another thing would be i disagree with Resistance i think it is a excelent game if it had online co op it would be better but i still think the graphics the controls and everything else are spot on.

That is whats great about games though the choice so your reason is good if you dont like the games dont buy the console. But as Bodhi showed for what you get Microsoft would charge £100 more. Its pointless doing this argument about how for £280 you get everything you need to play a 350 you dont need to spend £500. But in that case a PS3 costs £425 you dont need the HD TV ect.

The built in one not so great but under linux using firefox it is very useable. I have not tried YouTube ect so i do not know if there are pulg in problems with that.

What I like about DS games/Some xbrick games, is that you can order them way cheaper from hongkong. I bought Crackdown 2 months after its release for £14 It's such a shame Sony is against importing games.

The DS is still my favorite console because of it.

its preety much a cut down version of netfront which is a pda based browser. same version as psp. sony should improve it tho bone head must realise we can use kb and mice.

I will not rule it out but i hope you are worng as Sony have said many times they will be region free. Like i said i will rule nothing out.

Like i have said before comparing game from a 18month old machine to a 6 month old one is like comparing the collection from a ps2 to a xbox. And said it bofore but best games on 360 Forza and GOW both out after the machine was a year old. Some people go on like they were realse games.

I went into woolies yesterday as i was interested in these bundles but when i saw the games on offer it was pretty clear i'm a gamer at heart and could care less about the blue ray stuff.

Yes and? Hence why I picked them, as they're directly comparable to Rasistance and Motorstorm, being the pick of the titles so far. Still doesn't change the fact to get a 360 similar to the new PS3 bundle at £425 you'd have to spend £540. i.e you'd have to pay more and would get a lower spec machine that plays a futureproof DVD format that's already dead. I don't think picking up and X360 makes you a gamer, I think it makes you a fucking loon to be honest.

there are plenty of AAA titles for the xbox, and playstation3 will get quite a few of them aswell. Just give it some time. The xbox does have a better game catalog as it is atm, but im sure the playstation will shine in 6-12 months. Every exclusive title isn't AAA.
