Will I buy - already bought just waiting for Friday - almost patiently :)

What do I think of it - I'll tell you next Monday after a weekend of playing Zelda (assuming I can wrestle myself and my other half off Viva Pinata and Guitar Hero 2!)

what does the poll have to do with the subject/title?

anyway, I think it's great, however I won't buy one for the next 6++ months, as I haven't got time for all those new games :)

EDIT: ow, and the sales can be seen here (updated very often) http://nexgenwars.com/

You can't really make a vote like this when the 360 has a 2 year head start.

Once the PS3 enters mass production i think it will outsell the Wii just because it's a PS3.

It's been 360/ps3 tbh they can make the Wii faster because it's just a buffed up Gamecube.

Yeah i just got home from work :D

Anyone seen the review for SC.DA for the Wii? ouch poor game and yet again the MP is left out like COD3 ;/

Except Zelda i really do not see what people buying the Wii have to look forward to future line up is not that great.

Well it has a much more extensive list of games due within 1 month of release than the 360 ever had. But for me it is mostly about the new style of play with the motion detection controllers and the pick and play multi-player stuff for an hours fun on a Sunday afternoon. The 360 has been (and still is) seriously lacking in the two-players on one console department (Gears of War is horrible in split screen you just can't see enough to play effectively) whereas I hope the Wii will offer more of these kinds of titles.

i think most games are horrible on split screen. only decent 2 player games are, imo, when you both on the one screen, i.e. the lotr games on xbox.

Here's an example of the Wii's appeal. Just be on the phone to my Mum who'd seen it on TV and said she fancied that - she doesn't play any other games except maybe puzzle bobble and mah-jong :)

You just summed up why there aren't too many split screen games, because its horrible no matter what game you play.

Sure it has an extensive list but have you seen the games? there is like 1-3 games maybe worth getting if that i was just today checking out future releases on Gameplay and it's horrible :(

Want to know what the worst part for you guys is? you're going to a shoddy port of any multiformat game with some motion sensor stuff tacked on like in COD3/SC.DA.

The Wii could be a great second console BUT the games need to be good first, Zelda looks good but it's just Zelda at the end of the day the Virtual Console games excite me more then anything else ;/

Hehe won't bother me since I got all consoles, I'll just buy multi-formats on which it looks best on :)

I suspect 'gamers' that buy a Wii will also have a 360 or PS3 while non-gamers that buy it for the motion sensor stuff won't be too bothered about those kinds of games.

Same here my friend.

Bring on some living room, controller swinging, golf action. And I hate golf.

To clarify, the Wii is nothing like and never will be like the Gamecube. It has been marketed in a completely different fashion.. i.e. Going for the casual gamers instead of the die hard ninty fans. I see good things for the Wii and will definitely be buying one after crimbo.

It has taken a year to see some decent titles on the 360 (There were a couple at launch but nothing to have a love explosion in my pants about). I don't think we'll have to wait that long for the Wii.

Well since my bank ballance is already -£40 and I dont get more loan until after christmas I was pondering selling my Wii. Then I thought, fuck it, I want to play it, it will be fun! :D

What games are people getting?
Am tempted just to get Wii + Wii play (free controller) so I have 2 controlers, then mabey later get red steel or something.

I ordered Zelda and Monkey Ball with the console, but now I wil probably also get the Wi remote + play (cos we'll need two of those) and torn between Red Steel, Raving Rabbits and the Monster Truck one with the steering wheel gizmo for the remote.

Although as this is mine and my boyfriends chrissie pressie to each other I might flex the plastic a get all of the above :)

(Btw Shopto.net got most of games listed at 32.99 and HMV at 34.99 if you are looking for saving a few quid over the usual prices.)

The review I read said the aiming was crap when using the remote as a gun but the sections where it is used as a sword made up for it - always wanted to try those motion sensor sword games in the arcades but being a 30'something female I wasn't brave enough in public :)

You have to get Zelda it's a crime not to get Zelda if you are getting a Wii - that's the only game I'm getting atm along with Wii Play and apparently Red Steel is pretty shit I'd stay clear of it tbh.

Gotta say Toejam and Earl will be mine.

This looks like a handy thing considering how dire the stars catalogue is (That is, if they implement it in such a way that stars == Wii points in some shape or form and not receiving stars from VC purchases).

Does anyone know if games on the Wii have achievements? because i think that is a great feature on the 360 as it adds alot of replay value on games.

Funny you should mention that. When I first came across achievements I thought "what a load of wank".

Since playing GoW and Rainbow Six I seem to keep checking back to the achievements list to get more. It does seem to add some replay value for me. Well some that I usually wouldn't have. I usually cane the SP story and never go back.

I'll pick a Wii up next year for Mario and Metroid, and i'll get Zelda for my Gamecube (mise well use it for something)

After the 360, i'll never get a console at launch again as the game droughts on new relesed consoles are a nightmare.

Anyways have fun, and be sure to post impressions.
