ok, ppl have pursuaded(sp!) to make a nightshade.......

so id like to be a elf ns. (i will autotrain, bit suxx that my ranger isnt)

First question!!
How should i but my stats at creation (those 30 points)?

Second question!!
Enyone have a good specc to offer me (id like to use CS and ill be pierce ofc)

Third question!!
is it possible to make a good template whit allmost zero artis and no really expensive stuff?? (mybe using Golm, RoD, mybe use a leather ml10 vest i got from last ml10 raid (astral jerkin of withering or somthing like that) and some cool looking drop piercers (seen Green Glades arti mobs drop mp piercers that look really good and decent stats, allso ml9) mybe add som to that temp, couse cant do whitout)? (long question!! heh?)

TY in advance, dont really know much about nightshades

Firstly if its the ml10 shade vest with qui cap .. i put mine on my thid shade ... and i still want to use crafted level 29 armor over it >.<
SoM is a must imo for a shade , 200hp per proc is nice , and better when it procs 9 times in a row.
I forget how i spent my 30 pts , but was like 10 dex 10 str and prob 10 con
As for spec id sudgest making your own , with stealth/pierce/env @ 50/51/50 with + pts good and rest at what you want site is:
http://daoc.catacombs.com/cbuilder2.cfm?Nightshade
As for weapons id suddgest leggies which you can swap out, best weapons in game imo =)

for spec something like this would work well for a RR3 starter:

24+13 env.
37+13 stealth
37+13 pierce
47+13 CS
31+13 CD

or.

34+13 env.
37+13 stealth
37+13 pierce
44+13 CS
25+13 CD

all depends if you really cant do without the last str/con debuff till RR5ish, i personally would shoose the first spec.

Wyrds speccing says that piercing needs to be 51 composite, not 50 :X

Or does the 51 composite only take effect post rr5?

Aye herd that before now to think about it , game dosnt consider you to be level 51 till rr5 so you will only need 50 composit pierce / blades if only using crit based styles =)

Well since its the defence (ie evade rate for nightshades), wouldn't it be the enemies weapon spec (51 if they're above rr5) against yours (50 with that spec), so they'll still have an advantage over you?

If that makes sense. I r tired.

Afaik evaid rate on Shades is based on dex and qui , but aye, the higher the weapon spec you have <ie. more weapon skill> the more likely you wil hit .
I r teh also tired , and crafting for last 3 hours :/ so i could be wrong / not making sense ;p

you only need 50 comp spec pre RR5, MAYBE 51 @ RR5 or higher. BUT it was never tested..just assumed. i run 50 comp spec now @ RR5 and cant tell the diff.though there may still be one..but pre RR5 50 is just fine.

If you think 6 CD is worth taking a lower STR/CON debuff you are wrong. 2nd spec is by far superiour due to the +/- 100 more HP loss on enemy alone. 6 CD will never compensate for that. Add higher resist-rate + more poison damage (insidious poison) and its a no-brainer really. Lower STR/CON is something for SB's not NS/INF ;)

all down to play style really. so i wont argue, i just prefer the 6 CD and 3 CS.

i prefer combat skills that dont rely on poisens landing and not getting purged, just the way i like to play. my personal rule is that i will NOT drop CD lower than 30. and at the same time in the first few RRs i wouldnt want CS to be as low as 44.

i have had many fights where i have had to swap targets and fight a fight without debuffs (swap in weapons all used etc) i have had fights where i knock out 2 brittle guards on the first attack and land CD after PA (saving my ass)

there are arguements all over the shop for why you should have this, why you should have that..but at the end of the day it comes down to your preference and playstyle, hence the 2 specs :)

quickness is ur evade rate...
at at rr3 i would go:
Envenom-37+13 (lifebane)
Stealth- 37+13
CD- 21+13
CS- 44+13
Pierce- 37+13

With no Auto-Train:
rr3:
Envenom-37+13
Stealth- 37+13
CD- 26+13
CS- 39+13
Peirce- 37+13

or maybe cd->23 / peirce->39 ..

and try get mos3 1st then either purge/vanish and after that get the other from purge/vanish.

If your gonna be using composite 50 or 51 peirce .. you gotta go atleast 44crit

and only use Crit styles <garrote/achillies>.

i had the 36+14 peirce and 39+14 Crit ... and near 30 in CD

i wasent impressed with my damage at all ... then respeced it around a bit and

went 44 crit. Me + Bladesong were maxxing out our PA damage and could spam

diamondback+garrote and win most fights :p against same rr oppontents ofc

not the worst template i have seen at all..not bad infact, i would however change 2 things.

1. i would consider using the 6.10 leather vest, its got great util and a decent heal proc. only vest i would use really other than GoV

2. i would remake template taking off the stats from GS EXCEPT the +12 dex. this would allow you to swap to any legendary weapon, or any weapon with +12 dexish without losing important stats. being able to swap weapons is a MUST for re-applying poisens, attacking a second target, or just picking a heater for leather wearers etc.

darn there's a 3. try and get yourself another 40 hits cap. more is nice, but 280+ seems okay to me for pierce.

all the rest looks sound to me..stats are fine etc.

edit: nerf..4. i wouldnt use TD offhand..although some have success with it (petwick from ebony hand) i would keep it as a swap in for high defence chars (long fights) like pallies.
