I have a Volvo S60 T5, my second one and jesus christ they leave me a broken man. I hated the first one so god knows why I bought another one. Anyway, my car is poorly, compression is down so the piston rings are fucked. I am not spending anymore money on it so I have been car hunting.
I am also tall, 6'4" so space is an issue.
I am 40 this year so do the following make me look a bit sad, you know, a bit boy racer for my age?
Honda Civic Type R, drove one yesterday and loved it, a bit raw if I am honest but all I will be using my new car for is to commute 10 miles a day. I want the reliability and thrill of the Honda but am worried I may look a bit chavvy, after all most people who drive one are twats.
Ford Focus ST 225, not drove one but sat in a couple, they are by far the nicest inside and the steering wheel adjustment is fantastic but the real world fuel consumption scares me.
Renault Megane 225, I hate the look of these some days and love them on others, I have read that they are a softer ride than other similar cars but are they not a bit girly?
Volvo S40 T5, I imagine I would jump at one of these if I could find one close to me, same engine as the ST, lovely interior and grown up, scarey fuel consumption again though.
Mazda 6 MPS, these cars have it all and they are dirt cheap due to the running costs, having said that the consumption is no worse than on my Volvo.
Any ideas on the above or any other cars any of you can think of would be nice. BMW's make me depressed as do Audi's, I would look for a diesel but are they really that much cheaper to run now the price is so much dearer than petrol? Also you seem to pay a premium for economical car's and don't get much for your money.
Ideas appreciated luvs.
