Decided it was time for a music system for our second living room (not a flex we live near Stoke, all old houses have two living rooms).

Anyway decided the core of the system would be one of these:

Does CD/DAB/FM/Spotify and lots of other stuff.

Then got one of these to play the 2 records we own:

Speakers will be a set of these I've kept since the 90s:

What speakers did you actually get?

A Steelseries Apex Pro TKL Wireless Gen 3. TKL and wireless were the priorities for sofa gaming and it was in a good sale. I've had a Das Keyboard 4 Pro since forever and it's nice but this is just buttery smooth, I don't know if I've ever typed as much in as little time since it arrived today.

Also, pre-ordered an 8BitDo 64 Controller. Finally looks like there's going to be a good, wireless N64 controller that's not a pain to get working on Windows. Nintendo released their own thing but they did everything in their power to make it only work on the Switch. It's the controller that's going to come with the Analogue 3D, which should be shipping soon. I'd be all over that but I don't think I have any of my original cartridges (I've still got all of the boxes they came in though, for some reason).

I bought one of these on Black Friday to replace my Corsair that fell to bits. I like it but I'm still not entirely convinced by TKL; I find myself inadvertently pressing caps lock all the time and forgetting where shortcuts (like printscreen) are.

I've already bought a crappy little USB numpad because I'm exactly the same, I didn't realise how much I'd miss the number keys especially, which is stupid because I'm always putting in IP addresses, ports, etc. I've lost count of the number of times I've reached across to input a number and had to pick away at the numeric row instead, muttering to myself the whole time. I honestly don't know how people cope with the 60% ones - no standalone Escape key, F keys, no block of Insert/Delete/Home/End/Page up/down or even cursor keys. It'd drive me up the wall.

Win key + Shift + S is a built-in shortcut for print screen by the way, that's another one I had to look up.
