It hasn't done that (yet), and seems to be working OK. It's the gen3 so they may have improved that. I did have to alter the "True Radiant" settings this morning. The boiler fired up at 4:00am to get the house temp to "21C by 6:30am". It was very cold out so maybe it was right but I'd rather not be woken up and be a bit cooler, the boiler is upstairs. It was on default of up to 5 hours, now set to 1.

So I have an awesome gaming pc which is kinda wasted as I just have time for WoW and potentially some Civ VI (can't get it yet or l will lose days of my life which due to current workload I can't afford to do)... However for the next 4 to 6 months I have to go to Norway every other week... I decided that instead of getting behind the curve I will get a budget lappy... So today I got this:
ASUS ROG GL552VW-DM890T / 15,6" / FHD / i5-6300HQ / 8GB / 256GB / GTX 960M 4GB / Win 10

Not in BF sales but at a reduce cost \o/

I'll be interested to know what your fan noise is like @Yoni - my gaming lappy has the 860M and it is like a bloody vacuum cleaner. Good for warming cold fingers though.

I have a Dell with the Intel IRIS GPU, and the fan on that sounds like a Hovercraft if you do anything complex, like open an RDP Session or host a Go To Meeting.....

The awesomeness of this will depend on your interest in those round black bits of rubber attached to your car, but earlier in the week I finally got rid of the runflat tyres on my car, and replaced them with 4 x Michelin Pilot Sport 4's.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 Tyre | Michelin UK

They are a complete revelation after the previous Bridgestone runcraps. Much quieter, much grippier, and the ride is utterly transformed. Speed bumps, pot holes etc used to be an issue and a trip to the Chiropractor, now, it glides, and is far more comfortable. Difference is so night and day even the OH has picked it up.

If you have a BMW/Mini with those infernal concrete tyres fitted, get them off ASAP.

Dont you have to inform your insurance as its a change from the spec?

It is not noisy at all and unlike my dell it is not getting really hot on top but it is blowing quite a lot of hot air...

I myself don't find this nerdy or awesome but the cooks amongst you might (@Lamp?).

Bought some pans and a frying pan to go in the new kitchen - finally throwing away the stuff I bought before I went to University. Fooking expensive (the frying pan alone was about a hundred quid). But now I can I always try buy quality, and you can tell they are.

Then the bird suggested throwing away all of our plates whilst we were at it because she likes cornishware (and to be fair, all our crockery, bar not a single piece, is chipped).

So, she's had a kitchen, two bathrooms, pans and plates out of my skint ass in the past month. I doubt it will stop her moaning about the washing up tho :(

Clearly you need to pony up for a dishwasher mate. Don't put any of them fancy pots and pans in mind, they'll be ruined in no time!

We'll be moving out of this place in a couple of years and renting it out. The less white goods we've got for tenants to break the better.

Plus, no space. :(

The problem with these is they "sort of" work. It isn't native mouse support - they take the mouse input and emulate a controller input. There's a lot of mouse accel and it's not quite as precise as you'd expect.

Still better than a controller though.

Nest thermostat, on a stand as we don't have any existing thermostat wiring, so far likey muchy.
So whenever we wake up on Saturday morning can switch the heating on and start the fresh coffee from bed. Before I send Mrs Yuck downstairs to actually pour the coffee, obvs.

So had a little time with this now. Firstly, our heating is on less than it was, because it's on when we need it rather than when the old thermostat timer put it on. Our hours at home vary, so the old timer was set to when we are "mostly" home.
Secondly, after a week of using the Nest I turned the heating down 1 degree C, from 21 to 20. This has made the heating come on, on average, 2 hours less per day. I was quite shocked at that result. So all in all well worth the money. (y)

Did you install it yourself? How easy was it.

Well there's two elements to the install , the thermostat and the boiler receiver. The thermostat is easy, either wire up to your existing thermostat (low voltage) wiring, or get the Nest stand and simply plug into a socket via mini usb (what we did as we didn't have any wiring). The wiring diagram is easy to follow.
The receiver is another thing. There's a wiring diagram, but, there's plenty of wires in the boiler. I wasn't confident enough to do the job. I was having the heating serviced anyway so just had my "friendly" heating guy do the receiver part (extra £30). He had been on the Nest course, but it took him two goes with the wiring to get it right o_O
You can buy the nest with installation as part of the package and an approved fitter does the install, and checks your boiler meets the regs.
Once fitted, connect to your wireless network, sign up for a Nest account and install the app. I then "invited" Mrs Yuck via the app so she also can control it and it knows if she comes home. There's quite a few settings that you can mess about with either on the Nest itself or via the app.

Feel your pain, I had to do the same last month. Didn't go for Le Creuset though, as good as they are, a lot of the price you're paying goes towards the name. We went for some Circulon stuff, just as well regarded in France, but half the price.
