[Garaen]

I got the name Garian by changing the name Belgarion (one of my favourite series of books written by David Eddings). I did'nt like the Bel at the begining, so i removed it, Garion just didnt seem right to me, so i started to change the ion (because i love the name Gar (for some reason i didnt pick Gar on release. Garian was what i came up with

I tried to create a character called Gar a few months ago, ashame it was taken

Asmodean - A character from another of my favourite series of books (Wheel of Time)

Mealltair Oirfeideach - my BattleBard(tm) (heck, I announced his name on IRC, so what the hell)

Mealltair means "charlatan" or "deceiver"
Oirfeideach - "musician"

The idea behind the name was
a) a good celt name
b) a little pun ... deceived into thinking that a bard is easy prey etc. yada yada.

Trine im sorry to say but Aquavit does not meen toothpaste in danish and im a dane so i shuld know , he got it confussed with aqua--something--White ( white for white teeth )
Its is as you said the "original " name of our snaps , and it meens Water of Life as you said.

Carnelian Suth, got this from a book I was reading at the time, sounded quite good and I thought fitted in with me being a Paladin since the books character was the heir to a ruling Lord.

Tinegan Balefire, the first name was generated by the game, this char came about cos my Pally had fallen through the floor in camelot on a saturday morning and he couldn't get out, the second name is from The Wheel of Time series, it's basically a destructive force that is unstoppable, which does kinda fit in with the char being a wizard

Moridin LightTouch, the first name is also from The Wheel of Time series, in the books, Moridins name literally means Death and since he is an infiltrator, I thought Death's LightTouch sounded kinda cool, just my opinion on that though

Zelwych is actually a remix of my first retail char's name, Zeswick the mercenary (now deleted).

I wanted a new type of character, rolled up a sorcerer and wanted the name to sound more sorcerer/avalon like and not briton... Not sure how correct it is but hey.

The last name, Doomsayer I recently got from a guildmates idea, he thought it would suit me because of my sometimes a little negative and depressive attitude.

Sigurd the Volsung, the greatest hero of norse mythology, he who slew the dragon Fafnir, fought a hundred battles and... well, basically Scandanavia's Herakles... was suprised no-one took it

Serpent... well, just a nice name...

I did have an armsman by the name of Hucnar, which I made up myself, to prove I have an imagination

3rd comes Nataku, the nick name given to the Altron Gundam by its pilot, Wufei Chang in the Japanese Animated Mecha series, Gundam Wing. Its very much a Mecha name and suits a troll well in my eyes. It also seems to go well with a dark mage as well

Galatea - Taken from a name site (now shut down sadly, it rocked). But being interested in Greek mythology I wanted a Greek name So searched through the list of female names and saw a few contenders but something about Galatea stuck out and so I took it as meh wizzies name.

Annah - Planescape Torment. Nuff Said. Is there a better story in any game? If there is, I'd like to read it.

My Reasons

This is weird but I play the name Cornell on Excalibur, Albion and I chose my name for exactly the same reason, Chris Cornell. I havent decided on a good surname yet though.

The reasons for my alts are:

Skalar, a piece of equipment I use at work, funnily enough means "Peel" in Swedish

Dionex another bit of equipment form work (HPLC)

Bridge Trent, Because Im from Nottingham near the River Trent Bridge (UK)

Talia, good name from Babylon 5

Its nice when people recognise your name for what it means, especially people from where I live.

So I put together a bunch of sounds i liked and out came the name Ziera

Gluttenfer Punishment - I had fattus the pole spec armsman and armoursmith, not the easiest char to level . so making a cabalist when everyone said they were gimps, the name seemed apt

Blakken Whyte - a minstrel my grandad was a fan of the Black & White Minstrels and I have his collection of Bakerlite 78's somewhere

actually thats "Fyret" (the lighthouse, which btw also can mean fired as in laid off)
