And Purge? You need Purge against archers and tanks shieldslam, you need Purge against mincermezz, you need Purge against every single class in the game(if you just fuck up a little).

So to talk about Purge as a solution to the 9-sec-uber-idiotic-Dragonfang is like trying to cure cancer with asperin.

Here you have the edge with being able to use a wpn that their armour is vulnerable to, which they dont.

Oh and you didnt comment on the fact that they have to evade-comeback-frosty gaze, while you have to evade-dragonfang (if your specced 50thrust that is)

Once a warden sniper killed me with his bare hands. And another time Yog killed me with fireballs from his arse and lightning from his eyes, I am still scared. And...and...and another time I saw Pin fly from amg to mmg...Jezz!!!

Seeing as I've 2 weapons, both 99 quality 16.5 dps ones and am not RR5, they work like 99 quality 16.2 dps weapons, giving them effective DPS of 16.038. Now the offhand swings only 72.5% of the time, giving it another modifier, which drops its effective DPS down to 11.62755 (over time). This gives me combined DPS of 27.66555. If I were to swing the offhand every turn, I'd have 32.076 effective DPS. 27.66555 divided by 32.076 is 0.8625, which is 86.25% damage.

SZ, 44 in Left-axe base, +3 from RR4 and +11 from items, has 60% base damage, +22% damage from just spec and +7% from items/rr bonuses. 60+22+7 is 89% damage. 89%*16.2 dps*99 qua*2 is 28.54764 effective DPS.

I've spent 285 more spec-points (looking at just 1 spec) and even need RAs to even get close to SBs damage output, unstyled. Your run-of-the-mill SZ has 44 Axe/44 LA and I have 50 thrust/50 DW, which translates to me having spent 570 more points for equal unstyled damage.

2.2 spec points/level gives you 3252 spec points and 2.5 spec points/level gives me 3706 spec points. The difference is 453 points, which still leaves me (the guy with more spec-points) 117 spec points short.

Any intrinsic flaws?

Edit: small addition to SB part.

Intrinsic flaws =

1. Infils get to spec in weapons whose weapon skill is modified by a primary stat which increases as they level = dex

2. Infils 2.5 spec points allow them to get to a natural 50 in their chosen main damage type

3. Add these 2 together = overall higer weapon skill due to weapons being dex modified (if thrust speced) and a higher natural weapon skill from spec of 50. higer weapon skill = greater chance to land attack = less chance for enemy to evade / block / parry = easier to punch through most defences. At the end of the day raw weapon skill wins the fight. The ability to get through someones defences repetitively (sp) is far supperior to being able to do a few big hits and then be evaded / blocked or parried. You may hit for less with DW but you will hit more often due to higher weapon skill therefore it should techincally balance out. The balance is thrown out of the window by having a bot parked at the PK. Your calculations are nice but do not really take in to account that infils specced for thrust will always land more hits than SB regardless of spec unless they are sporting 47 aug buffs

4. Any good infil will know the minute you hit a SB with an envenrating poison they are fuxored. Even if they purge surely you have a back up weapon in pack with envenrating on it ? if not then the old cliche "tatics" comes to mind.

5. Shadowblades only get access to weapons based of str (slash type) which is a tertiary stat

6. Shadowblades only get 2.2 x per level therefore they cant get a natural 50 in weapon spec without seriously gimping the other 3 lines unless they go full critblade of 50 sword 50 cs rest stealth tips in poison. A sb swinging a 2h weapon v a dual wielding infil with df = dead critblade unless they get a huge crit on the PA and the CD actually lands and isn't evaded

7. And of course as we all know vanish = viper >>>>> shadow run .. and if anyone says otherwise , I say please pass your bong / crack pipe / LSD / ganja / liquor to me as I too would very much like to get boxed with you

So aside from the fact that 75% of all assassins probably go out with a full complement of buffs it can be said that between the spec lines / skill points and RAs everything is fairly equal(ish) Nightshades probably could do with something but as they actually get stuff from acuity bonuses which leads to pretty mad envenom damage this kind of evens it out sort of even though it wont really kick in till higher rr when they can afford all the good stuff

Ok typo ... since you swing with both hands 100 of the time. Its also terribly hard to PA with a 2 hander switch bars, hit one key on the quickbar and perfor a switch to 2 weapons in 0.5 seconds flat.
