MSN Live - Weird People Adding Me

Guys

Ive recently had LOADS of people who I dont have a clue are trying to add me on MSN.

Now, anyone else having this? Its doing my head in!

I've had randoms from Ukraine and China try to add themselves to me.
Good luck with that... I reject all requests unless I actually know the person IN PERSON.

I've been getting a lot of these lately aswell. the first couple I added just in case it was someone I knew that'd changed their address. Started to reject them though when I started getting messages from the ones I did add inviting me to get naked with them on their webcam...

It's not wierd at all, msn has always been like this, with the move towards a more social networking style it's easier than ever for people to get your msn address from one of your friends or contacts pages.

A huge amount of those are just spammers - if you accept, they know they have a live email address and lo'n'behold, an inbox full of shite.
So as a direct result everything gets entirely ignored and reported to MS as a spammer.

its bots in the vast majority of cases.

they are trying new and exiting ways to spam.

I use this...

Show Menu > Tools > Options > Privacy
Make sure "Only people on my Allow List can see my status and send me messages" is ticked.

Its a pain in the arse. Skype is the same; always getting random bots, mainly from China, trying to connect.

Its picked up an awful lot over the past 3-4 months, im generally getting someone adding me about 4 times per week or so.

I block/report them immediately, but regardless the accounts don't seem to be deleted what so ever.
