imo as a general rule. inf > thane. for a number of reasons

I forget the actual numbers, but I have two thrust weapons with 16.2 dps and I think one is spd 2.2 the other 2.3.... that's pretty quick hitting. My PA chain is pretty damned quick now

agree there....thanes are screwed if infil get the PA +CD in....but very easy too avoid that chain too....

And even if a infil get the PA in i can avoid the CD pretty easy..


and not hitting a infil with 2h? - nah....id say i hit 2/3. and 2hits are a dead infil....


but in the end its up too the player and how good he can handle his class.

Most RvR encouters are. If someone is crap they're likely to get owned playing any class.

Totaly agree With Dannyn and Svartalf...

Ive been owned by a yellow con Norse Thane, basicly becuease i was stupid. The worst part was that i could engage him while he was sitting and had his back turned against me (yeah, i know... but its rvr ) All i can say to my defenses is that it was late at night and i tried to do 4 things at the same time...

Anyway back to the topic (more or less)

My most hated classes:

2. Anything with stealth
3. Thanes

does PA have a stun to it?

cos u get hit by a PA ur first thought should be kite.

Move thru the inf, make him miss his CD and more than likely 2 hits will kill him with 2H (add 150 damage from insta bolt and about 100 damage from pbAoE).

Thats 550+150+100 which is average damage on a leather wearer. 2nd hit means death, if u miss u r fubared tho.

Or if u r quick as a hiccup (and using 1H Shield) u can move thru inf if he PA u, engage and stick. Then wait for block and use the 3 style Block trigger combo (ending with Mjolnir's Fury).

The above does rely heavily on skill, timing and luck, as do most RvR encounters and this scenario is far from impossible.

So please dont say Thanes will be eaten by infils. till it happens to me I wont believe it

I'd say if the thane is not ready he'll get eaten.
And yea,2-handed hurt like hell..if you hit...I actually killed a lvl 50 thane when I failed PA thanks to evade (got hit twice and that was by his fancy magic).
You don't need CD to kill a thane either,a PA that has taken almost 50% hits and debuffed str/con with 118 pretty much settles the fight.
If the thane is awake and ready it's another thing,it could start to look a bit more nasty for the pretty guy in leather then.


And Matt,SB better than infil?I don't agree with ya on that one.
Imo infils can take down a wider range of targets than the SB and I think that makes them more well rounded.

inf's have a much, much better choice of targets, but only really due to having a choice of damage type. That doesn't necessarily make them better - just better options.

u trying to say the most target limited class in game aka CritBlade (can only reallay attack casters, archers and pure healers safely, anything else even con is very dangerous)

Critblades are the least balanced SB out there.

a 5 Spec or Soulblade has more options and can even go after some tanks. they also do pretty well vs other assasins.

Infils can go toe to toe (with luck) with most tanks, all assasins all archers, all healer classes and all casters.

I would say that and the extra spec points and thrust spec makes infils have the edge. and to add to it they get a better class specific RA too in vanish

Ahhh! It all becomes clear! The lag I get ingame from time to time when taking on pygmy goblins makes them 'run' through me, so I have been honing my skills to accomodate it. Now I realise it is my secret Guild of Shadows trainer adjusting things to prepare me better for the battlefields

HINT: Don't keep hiding at the back - you're hard to spot.

HINT2: People are lying if they say being in combat mode prevents a critical hit.

HINT3: If a stealther gets near you, stand VERY VERY still. It makes you harder to spot. We always go for the ones who are panicing anyway, honest.

HINT4: Take the weight off your feet from time to time. You work hard and deserve a rest. Better still, go make a nice fresh cup of coffee.

We also know that in the life of Prydwen, Midgard levelled much faster from the start than the other realms - these guys have been farming RPs for a long time having had plenty of lower level targets to choose from. I expect the infils in Albion to start catching up a bit in the RP tally, although we'll still not have it as easy

Doesn't work that way with me solid so i disagree, strongly.

Would love a choice of damage type though, and a RA that's actually worth more than a steaming pile of horse shit.
