well not really, as GMT = british time in winter and BST = british summer time

GMT is constant all year round, but BST, which only exists in summer, is one hour ahead of it to take advantage of daylight hours. so GMT and BST can both be british time but GMT isn't = BST

For us non-english time fucks, BST = GMT will do just fine, if you assume GMT is always <x hours> behind your time. I had this little issue myself, and I spend a good while confusing Xanir with it. Now I just use his time to prevent his brain from self-destructing.
