Max Payne The Movie

Probably a subject that deserves its own thread, so here it is.

If (when) they make a film about/called Max Payne, who should they cast?

My recommendations:

Gary Sinise - Max Payne

Should also include Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Stephen Dorff playing the different "boss" characters.

Any other suggestions?

As a spitting image of Max Payne the role should be given to Eric Close. Okay I know there is no picture at imdb, but Eric Close was teh main character in the TV series Dark Skies, and he would fit this role perfectly.

Despite the fact he's looking a bit old now Michael Biehn would have the gritty voice and the darker side to his character. Or Russell Crowe or of course the guy I think Max Payne was modelled on, Bruce Willis (if he lost a bit of weight)

A beefed up Edward Norton.

As the game borrows all the cliche elements of loads of existing films, surely a film of Max Payne would just seem like a cheap copy. Even Bullet Time is old hat in movies now to the point where they've spruced it up for The Matrix.

Ooh, look! A film where an undercover New York cop turns rogue and single-handedly goes after the head of a major corporation (funded by drug money with Mafia ties) to avenge the deaths of his wife and child.
