fantastic game. only managed to fit in about 6 hours of play since i got it, but probably the best 6 hours of gaming this year for me. i love the melding of fps and rpg elements, the dialogue, voice acting, story... all amazing!

playing as an infiltrator and it's muchos fun.

For me the story/acting/superb graphics blow me away everytime i play it.

You can tell instantly an insane amount of time and effort went into making the game.

Also this is the type of game where you will want to have a spare 5 hours to play it imo don't play the game at 30mins-1 hour at a time as you will not get the full feel for the awsome story.

Imo do not be one of the people who blow through the main story and are like 'wow that was short' i am doing everything possible an i am on 35 hours the next time i play will be even longer as i have missed a few quests.

Yep, got to agree, I've played a good 14 hours or so on Thursday, and if you really explore and engage in conversations you can quite easily not advance very far into the game at all. I feel like I will get a nice long stretch out of this, not to mention the replayability.

Yep, 22 hours in and according to a mate who has completed it I am not even 50% of the way through the main quest yet. I have spent many happy hours finding obscure sidequests and items as well as tons of exploring the planets for mineable resources. I prefer to take my time with the game, not skip any dialogue or plot and never missing out on any of the side quests. If I rushed through this game I know I would never see half of what the game has to offer.

Finished it for the first time as a soldier on the weekend, playing through most the game. There are a few niggles but its still an amazing game, I love the horrible choices it forces you to make near the end of the game.

Kinda wished I had picked a person with biotics, it looks so cool when my team mates fling people all over the place, im not going to create a new person as you can use the same person to replay through the game at the same lvl you finished the game with.

Just have to wait for the sequel now....

Completed, 38 hours 51 minutes played.

Every side quest completed.
Not a single line of dialogue skipped and all dialogue paths explored.
No cutscenes skipped.
Every system explored.
Every planet explored 100%.
All mining deposits and collectables found.
Shagged a blue lady.

In short, fucking awesome game! :)

It is 38 hours if you play it properly, explore everywhere, do everything, don't skip any dialogue and cutscenes.

Oh and a word of warning, in the main story arc do not go to the planet with 'The Conduit' chasing after the bad guy until you have done all your side quests and explored everywhere else. I know that is a slight spoiler but the reason alot of reviewers are saying the game is 20 hours long is because they did the main quest steps as soon as they came up instead of waiting till they hit level 49 or 50 before going to that last step of the game. Exploring the whole game gets you to the maxmium level just as you are headed for the last stages of the main quest so you need to have done everything else before you go to 'The Conduit' planet.

Oh and one more thing, there are alot of side quests that appear at various locations inside 'The Citadel' station during your repeated visits there, they are all well worth doing and some of them are excellent. Everytime you go back if you explore the areas on 'The Citadel' you will find them, it is just a case of being patient and thorough.

Started it yesterday, loving it so far, although it does make the box struggle - plenty of fps drops etc. Love the work that has gone into dialogue and animation, behaviour of the different characters etc. High learning threshold. Wish they would start doing proper manuals for console games, rpgs like this needs a good refence manual to leaf through for info on skills, stats, equipment etc, like you normaly get for PC games.

It still baffles me that console game designers haven't come across the "incremental save file" idea with their autosaves..

Also, I'm baffled as to why COD4 is the only game I've come across on the 360 that can automatically read my HD/Memory Card without having to pop up about 4 different ugly looking blade things when I put any disc in..

Its a little thing, but why tf does this happen if it doesn't have to?

I have 5 save files that i rotate one after the other so i have the possibility of backtracking if i do something i regret and also to protect me from corrupted files or buged missions etc (not that i know of any but it seems prudent).

Bout 12-13 hours in now, mostly following the storyline and doing a few sidemissions, the ones i feel make sense - often the storyline missions are urgent and it doesnt make sense if Sheppard would go off doing his own thing,or well, not the way i play him. Gonna play an evil and egocentric female Sheppard when im done with the current good and loyal male one, will probably explore the sidemissions with her.

Completed the main storyline today - 18 hours played, level 37 soldier, mostly paragon, 385 acheivment points. Next playthrough will be with a female renegade vanguard and will aim to complete most of the optional missions.

Awesome game, best ive played on the 360 and on my top 10 games ever list.

Some of the conversation choices when you're being nasty are hilarious. The [Disconnect] option with the council 3 times in a row had me and a friend in stitches :)

Also - when you dont want to sweet talk wrex on virmire :)
