Superman is lame as fuck though, he has no shades of gray to his character, which makes him a childlike vision of good vs evil.

Never really liked the character mainly because of that, only watched superman on bbc2 because teri hatcher was hot as fuck :p

Or that he's going to grow up to make really long films where he can't do an English accent.

He'd have more trouble doing an American accent, seeing as he is actually british

That looks quite good. Lens flare again though, it's in fashion.

That was GOOD! Some plot holes, of course, but had me gripped from beginning to end. Kevin Costner did a good job and the intro with Russell Crowe was fabulous. Roll on Man of Steel 2!

I dunno..but a big part of me want SM to go back to rescuing people stuck on high buildings and dropping them off with their grateful families.

I saw it yesterday morning. Thought it was way too long. Spent half the film showing battles between invulnerable supermen. Utterly pointless filler. The whole last 25 mins could have been cut.

Yes the fundamental problem of Superman films..you keep having to invent super villians who can take him on

I thought it was pretty good. I wish I didn't see it in 3D though.

Not seen it yet, was planning on that today. Some Kiwi friends saw it last night and said it was terrible, very long, violent and pointless. Still going myself as the same people also said the TV series Utopia was bad.

Unless forced, I'm never going to watch a 3D movie again. The last one I saw (star trek a couple of weeks ago) was AWFUL. So blurry and fake. 2D is still the way, until 3d tech becomes perfect.

They're kind of right. There's whole 10-15 minute scenes of supermen fighting unable to kill each other. Tedious is the best word for it.

I find these comments a little odd. I don't remember too many people getting pissed at Gods fighting in Thor or Avengers, yet now it is a big deal? Also there was a huge wankfest over the Batman reboot on these forums, despite those films being very long and exceedingly silly, whilst taking themselves very seriously.

It's exactly the same as the rest of the comic book shit that's out. I don't like them either, for similar reasons.

Hate coming from the expected directions. Admittedly, not read a good review elsewhere yet. Will see for myself but probably not at cinema.

You say that but that was the genius behind Lex, one regular guy keeps fucking around a superhuman.

Film was pretty good, much better than the last superman reboot imho.

Went to see it in 3D just before 3pm there on a day off fucking shivering/sweating with a cold, was pretty good.

Waned abit towards the end but the start was very impressive.

I wonder if that will win the best animated film oscar?

Also; John Travolta is looking good for his age.
