i'm trying to register the key i got but codemasters web server are seriously fucked up. i can never do anything fast on their servers.... >.<

so i just keep getting timed out whenever i try.

also this does look like a very good and interesting game - lots of online quests / groupage etc - plus some interesting pvp idea play announced (become a mob attacking other players)

i don't remember applying either but i did beta test Archlord so i'm guessing thats why i got sent one

well, i did manage to register now. but that isnt gonna do anything good as there is i dont know how many ppl thats trying to log on. takes 10+ minutes just to get the server list to show up, and then theres only 1 (!) server listed and it wont stay up more then 15 seconds after it go up. ppl cant even get the chance to get to the character creation screen fgs...


i really really really have my doubts about this game. if they cant forsee this, how the hell are they gonna live through release day? or any other stress tests.

unless, the login process IS the stress test and they just said we would get a permanent spot if we managed to log in to the game so they could get as many as possible hammering the auth servers.....

gonna give it a while longer and then i give up. they aint gonna get any pretty feedback thats for sure.

i expected this game to be yet another wasted license but how wrong can one be; the general feeling is superior compared to any mmorpg up to date. got my human minstrel up to lvl7 and i was impressed, tried dwarf and now i'm speechless. if they manage to build good "good vs evil" PvP this game might actually bring some competition to wow (which imo has crappy PvP).

pvp mode is 'monster pvp in arena's atm... you can choose to fight agains player controlled mobs

This game is great when u can get online, its pve easily as good as wows and also has the benefit of a good setting, cant comment on crafting yet but ive tried the pvp side and its great fun. This game is gonna do great imo

This has to be one of the most unsuccessful stress tests in history, by all accounts their servers/zone can handle large amounts of players in one are all at once but their login server just cant handle the amount of players trying to log in.

and theres so many fucking gandalf wannabies it makes me wanna puke. and if i see 1 more hobbit i think i'l go shoot myself.

Yeah but a successful stress test would result either in their preparations being correct or them being able to change things so it did work.


They may learn alot from this stress test but i think it would be a leap of the imagination to call it a 'success'

I played the beta of Archlord but it was really a disaster. I hope that LOTRO will be much better... still haven't got a key though :'( does anyone know when the open beta begins?

yes i know that, and i dont have a problem with that. what i DO have a problem with is ppl thats changing 1 letter in a name just because LEGOLAS was taken! so they get Legoolas or legolass or what fucking ever insted.

i dont care if ppl follow the naming guidelines, i do it myself. but atleast i have enough IQ to think up a name. not desperatly trying to have a already taken one.

oh, you have seen lots of people running around yelling "ffs name legolas was taken so look at me now, i'm legoolas!" and stuff? sure, that could be annoying but i haven't seen it happening (and default setting is not to display player names which i like to use - feels more of roleplaying and stuff ;p).

that been said i've seen probably all the versions of "legolas" in all fantasy mmorpg's i've played so lotro brings nothing new there.
