Time travel in sci fi is fucking stupid if they use it to add new shit. However, with the exception of Desmond, they implied their time travel was more akin to 12 Monkeys. I.e. you can't change anything, what's done is done. If this was planned from the very start, it could be quite well done. If they start adding new shit and expecting us to believe that they intended that from S1 then it's going to be total shit.

so when there was a flash and they moved in time, how come the canoe didn't disappear? Why weren't they all dropped in the sea?

Because whenever you think about time travel too much it shows up poor writing.

Anything they hold/take goes with them it seems. Remember the watch Richard gave Loch?

Did anyone think that the situation with Daniel and Charlotte was an awful lot like Twelve Monkeys. She tells him he told her not to come back to the island when she was a kid or she'd die. Reminded me of the end of Twelve Monkeys where he dies and see's himself as a child and realises that's the recurring dream he's been having. Of course in Twelve Monkeys it was done well, in this it was just tacked on, retcon stylee.

Plus, enough with the fucking spooky music already! Alright, I get it, we're supposed to be shocked and amazed but it just makes the whole thing ridiculous.
