Open Beta Testers: Account Login 03/27/2004

We have been receiving many reports that some of you are getting an error message upon login that says "Account usage time has expired." This is because we are currently still in closed beta. Those of you receiving this message have accounts set up for use in open beta. The official Open Beta will begin at 12:00am midnight PST Sunday, March 28th. Thank you for your patience.

Finaly got into the beta - it legs like HELL. The server just can't cope with the number of people loged in

Theres like 20people on my screen whereever I look
Loged out, will login again later and hope the lag has cleared

Yeah thats the one I was on. Servers down now but it's just so bloody laggy, you can't do anything without a 4+ sec delay, hell monsters don't even attack back because of the lag

I don't think they expected it to be so populer

Yep I remember playing it for a while, though some of it is a bit too simplified at lower levels. But then daoc didn't exactly have many (any tbh) good styles or spells at early levels either. I think most people are forgetting what they put up with in daoc at the start and are expecting good things like their level 50's whenever they play a new mmorpg.

That said, I'll leave it a while before trying to play Lineage I think, does my old install of the Korean beta work for this also or do I need to get the new English language version?

ill leave it a few days till most people have it then ill start the download, , saves me downloading at 40-50k/s and it taking ages, instead of getting 70-80k/s and it taking alot less

easiest way to find out is just to try, but i dont think it will be much diff, if your missing anything id expect it to patch the diffrent parts so it was fine, but then, i dont really know its just a guess.

At a guess Cornell, it will prolly be something like daoc update.dat type thing.
I played both betas now and the only difference is none '"*£^"*(&^^^^^__^^" language and a different server

thats basically what i was saying , but i didnt mention the update.dat thing, and actually, thats all it probbly will be, its same with daoc, u can play US one with a uk box, if u have the US update.dat

which means its full of french and german people who talk in their own language to everyone whether they do or do not speak it so that server should be avoided by non-french/german players

Im waiting a few days for the lag to settle down. Atm the mobs arn't even fighting back so ur getting free xp pretty much. Thats IF you can login at all. Apparently theres a 4th server being put up sometime next week.

How do i become specialised, like say a ranger? Do I just have to spec bow or is there something else?

Anyone else having trouble downloading it? I only ever get to about 1 meg before it claims to have completely downloaded. Did ppl use another programme to download or am I missing something?

Think the game is rather good, should do something about the character creation before they lauch the game though.
The game isn't lagging that bad for me.
Got to lvl 8 (soon 9) and got bored of all the hammering of mobs
Too much PvE

Lineage II here we come , downloading it atm , wish they had a better upload speed thou... down loading 1,08 gb takes a while at 25 kb's , and its not my line thats slow , was downloading another file , just to test it , at the same time and it was running 327 kb's ..

Maybe I should have waited a few hours , but nm watching dvd's anyway

its been up and down all day, trying to get speeds faster than 30kbs on a 1mb pipe but not having much luck.... got a steady 35kbs now so im just gonna leave it overnight and hope it doesent timeout any more while i zzZZ
