I was at a London meet - it was organised by Xyliana IIRC and was in a cellar underneath a pub that I don't remember the name of near Marble Arch. Zenythe was there too.

One of the Hib E&Es won a pair of my boxer shorts in the pub quiz.

Sounds familiar.....

I've no idea who won your boxers but at that point I was probably inspecting the ceiling or the underneath of the table....

And nps Bau - I tend to talk around the houses both on forums and in the outside world and can get confusing for me let alone other people ;).

Still a shame both Mythic and GOA ruined DAOC tbh :/ because no game company will make a game that equals its pvp again (if they did i'm sure with the right advertising they'd make a bloody killing) it would certainly appeal to die hard pvpers and with the right ruleset it would appeal to PVE players aswell, much like Gaheris did on DAOC.

I think you see DAoC as some rosey memory. Good for you, but it makes your prediction that much more true - for you. I believe there will be better. Frankly, I've had a lot of fun playing Warhammer late last year, with very similar gameplay - great keep objectives with huge zergs and also in small ganksquads with badass players.

It's my firm belief that Warhammer could be rescued from the doldrums, but with EA unwilling to commit resources and the existing devs being told to make the game more open to the microtransaction model so it can squeeze $s out of the remaining few customers instead of fixing bugs and balancing the classes up, that game is simply stagnating at the moment.

WAR can't be salvaged, they should have tried doing that well over a year ago while people still had hopes, but now it's just way way to late.
