I'd vote for him over Boris tbh, also the congestion charge is great :D

Great in what way? In reducing congestion? Nope, not during the most congested times anyway, which are now back to pre-congestion charge levels during rush hour. In reducing carbon emissions? Yes, but at the expense of increased NOx (which is worse for air quality at street level). In raising money? Nope (although it doesn't lose as much since IBM took over from Capita). Yeah, its absolutely brilliant.

Voting tomorrow.

I for one will be voting Boris, part for policy (some), mostly to keep Ken out. First time I've ever felt I have to vote this way. Ken in charge would be a disaster.

Ken said if he gets in the Jews are getting round 2....seems a bit harsh bringing all that to the table

Wasn't Ken Livingstone regarded as a fairly decent Mayor?
No, he bankrupted London the first time, and then tried hard to repeat it the second. A self serving twat, Boris at least does no real harm.

Who cares? They came in to make cuts and save money, something labour do not know how to do. You don't get re-elected for tough decisions, that said, Ed as Pm, really? Nah.

Did my postal vote the other day, Ken isn't someone I'll vote nor is nearly any one in Labour.

Probably because the Tories cut so much for too long so that by the time it's a labour government everything is a shambles and severely under funded that they end up going on a spending spree!

Of course they will. But at least you get to try and influence whether or not they bring lube with them.

You've gotta vote, though. Find one of the really unlikely candidates who's views match yours and vote for them. At least then they get some encouragement to step up their campaigning next time or influence the bigger parties.

You can also void your poll card, which they record.

Yeah but what if I vote and the party gets in, then it's actually the bnp and I've gotta leave England?

Well, if you truely agree with BNP policy, then vote for them. I hope you don't cos they are cunts, but it's completely up to you. The independent candidate, Sibhan or whatever, has a load of very sensible policies with solid funding plans and no huge items designed as give aways to buy votes. She wont get in, but voting for her keeps her hopeful and in the game. Maybe some of her better policies will be stolen by Ken or Boris after they see the support she had?

Met Ken Livingstone back in 1982 with my dad at some political meet in London, the bloke was a cunt then and is an even bigger cunt now. My dad spoke with him for a minute and walked away very disappointed, the things he says behind closed doors are very different from what he says in public.

So, for that reason, even as an almost lifelong Labour follower I would vote for Boris. He is a buffoon but at least everyone knows it and he isn't so clever to be able to hide the lies. The same can not be said of Livingstone, he still hasn't been called out on half the shit he said during the GLC years and everything before that. The bloke is a chameleon who has changed his beliefs massively over the course of two decades and become very rich in the process, even to the point of tax avoidance.

I'd urge everyone to pretend Ken wasn't on the ballot and then vote for whoever they see fit.

Vote for whoever they see fit.

That means no one.

I'm horrified that these are best two candidates we have to run our capital, and during the Olympic year when the entire world is watching. Could the parties really not find any better options? For example a random tramp off the street.

Frankly, Boris looks like a random tramp off the street and acts like one... maybe they just put him in a suit?
