CNN have changed to "Pop icon Michael Jackson has died in Los Angeles, according to multiple reports."

I actually do feel really gutted.

If this is true, its terrible news.

I predict much reflection and self-pity on the behalf of the tabloids who have ridiculed him for so long (just like Diana), before normal service resumes.

I wasnt really a fan of his music, but I do feel gutted he has passed away as I grew up during his prime time.

Apparently it wasn't a heart attack it was food poisoning.

He'd just eaten some twelve year old nuts.

:iagree:, sad news, but, as Tom says, how long before the Tabloids start trashing him.

What is the difference between Jackson and Ferguson? Ferguson will play giggs in August.

RIP though, his music was great, in his prime he influenced people in a positive way. I'm glad the travesty of his later life is over though, and hope he finds peace now.

I do however hope that this does not dominate news for the next few days, while his death is sad, celebrity deaths are not the most important thing happening in the world.

If it'll sell papers and get ratings then the "news" will milk it for all it's worth. Let's hope the autopsy doesn't reveal anything more they can latch on to. I did find it strange that his personal physician was apparently with him at the time of the cardiac arrest. Maybe he was in more ill health than anyone knew.

Well, it's sad news. I'll be remembering him for the iconic and memorable music from his prime, rather than the adverse crap in recent years. I don't think he was 100% mentally stable in the first instance, although that may not excuse some of the things he's allegedly done. And the Moonwalker film.
RIP Michael.

Aye.

I never really feel compassion for a celebrity death, but this is different.

Why? Seriously. I'm not being facetious, why do you feel differently about him? I never really "got" Michael Jackson, even before the kiddie fiddling.

I'm with Kryten on this one - I can see how his later years and questionable activities will be in the news, but I'll probably end up looking back on some of his cool old videos and choons with happy memories.

RIP.

more importantly, sickipedia is now down due to huge amounts of people trying to get up to date news on the tragedy.

I think that he is (was) a very talented man. I love his albums and I think he made a massive impact on music in the past forty years. Just when he's about to try to pull it out the bag for the last time, this happens. It just seems so sudden and too early.

Haha, I tried to get on sickipedia too Chilly! I always feel the most important part of any celebrity death is the distateful jokes.
