But I never used any internet service I pay for that has this poor/crappy uptime...

Imagine this in a online poker game - that puts it into perspective I think...

You pay CASH to play...but we accept it as DAOC players--
Try that approch with online betting games and you're history in the online betting business...

I don't care if it's only 5 min interruptions or 1 min ...
Try contact some online betting firms to see why they have uptime like they do..

No offence- but doing Trial & Error stuff and ask community if latest changes it's better or worse doesn't impress me much...
If you don't know how to configure the server & network settings -> just get some expertise to help you...

Because the problems are still there. People won´t stop posting things over and over again until the issues are solved and that´s a good thing because "we´re working on it" is the equivalent of "um.. yeah.. we dunno what it is, but it might be solved sometimes in the future if we´re lucky".
People posting here to ventilate their anger and frustration is the best way to handle that. They might as well spam GoA or OT with hatemails, stop playing or whatever. By giving them this forum, they´re getting the chance to let off some steam where it doesn´t hurt anyone, so why bother replying to the threads, telling them to be patient? They´re just exercising their customer rights. Nothing wrong there.

Oh.. btw, this is interesting: if OT would stop all traffic caused by DAOC all of a sudden. Would this still fall under the "oh, it´s not GoA`s fault, be patient, they can´t do anything." category?

Actually i'm inclined to agree with DavidH on this, i'd like to think i've been one of the most patient people regarding this OT problem - but even I have my limits. It's been what? A month now? Maybe a little more, my patience for this is all but used up.

Though I do agree with you on the subject of reposting this, keeping all the lag whine to one post would be the ideal solution - but then people would feel their voices arn't 'heard' - people can't satisfy their over-inflated egos if they don't feel people are listening now can they?

Again Ill say this, GOA ARE PROVIDING THEIR SERVICE! The game in its entirity is running and all servers are up, the issues are with a 3rd party, namely OT. As I said before, theres technical details involved that 99% of you wouldnt have a clue about;

Only that 1% like you really care of the bi-polar molecular disruptor anti matter containment restrictors phased coupling on the starboard necell has gone into spasmadic convulsions after experiencing a fluctuation in the space-time cereal bowl, instead of hearing "its broke, we fix it good".

Agreed venting anger on here is OK, but it does get a little tiring keep opening new threads with the same useless question, you wont get a different answer than "we are working on it" until they have reached "we have fixed it!". Stick to the old threads, keep posting thing that might be helpful other than "fix it or we'll all quit!".

If you would own GOA and your service to the paying customers would be.....poor then it would be in your intrest to put as much pressure on OT _and_ giving out frequent information on you doing just that because otherwise your company would loose money and customers at a bigger rate than it would if your service would have been working properly. Really simple actually...then again GOA might not care that much.

Their part of the service also includes the connection link to a large degree.

We pay GOA the money to get a complete service, they then pay OT a proportion to provide a playable connection, which is part of that total service.

Without OT suppling the link, there is no service.

We do not pay OT, we pay GOA.

The posts here from unhappy customers would, and should continue, in the same way that one hopes GOA are leaning heavily on OT after all this time, and not sitting back after raising one fault call, throwing patronising remarks around at people who want the situation resolved.

Last weekend me and my mate hooked up to play Starcraft Broodwars just for the heck of it - 10+ hours of uninterrupted gameplay....
And that will happen once in a blue moon in DAOC

It's in GOA's own interest to make sure they get the service they need from OT to let us play DAOC on a problem-free network, but seems they haven't figured it out yet... Get my point now ?

yup i logged again last night after the 67367374384th time dying in rvr due to red lag and ld's

and this has been going on since OT announced that upgrade and got worse with NF (probably simply duo to increased traffic generated - more info is sent to the client compounding the already existing problem)
