Yes very sad indeed :/

I know Im very happy for Ferarri right now

The final race in Malaysia is on my Birthday this year. I'd love nothing more for Schumacher to win this year's season

Do us proud boy.

What a pile up, huh? Monza = MENTAL. Way too narrow round the first few corners. They should change it, or stop using it altogether.

Having said that, the more carnage and crashes and stuff there are, the more watchable F1 is.

nice link to the bbc
i think the wheel ties that were introduced
after senna died, do not work and have been changed for next season,
as the wheels still fly off.......
in fact no, i was thinking how to talk to my switches should i shout at them.
but it is sad when anybody dies, not just if it's on the tv.

The extra attachments which are in place to hold the tires on are only rated at 5 tons.

Respect to the marshall and his family. Dedicated staff like the marshalls make it possible for us all to enjoy motor sport.

Embattle is right, the ties which hold the wheels on in the event of an off only have a tensile load rating of 5 tonnes. I belive that this will be increased for next season due to this tradegy and other instances during this season.

Peace

A terrific race, a great shame that its tinged with tradgerdy(sp?) My thoughts are with the Marshall and his family. :(

Btw: the next race? Is that on the INDY 500 oval speedway? that place is fuckin mental i can see there being some nasty crashes :( lets hope there isnt.

Jam.

great shame about the tragic nature of Monza this year. I didnt watch the race at the time (well, I saw them on lap 11 with the safety car out), and the result was sent to my phone for me, typical British drivers, all of em managing to crash out.

Personally I really dont want Schumacher to win, not after all his signiture "take out the opponant" moves of the past few years.

They really using the Indy 500 track? gotta ask, why??? we get to watch our beloved cars go round and round and round and round in a big circle a couple of hundred times.... wheres the fun in that? The great thing about F1, has always been the challange of the track. Indy 500 might have a big reputation and that, but I really cant see much to it. Easily amused are these americans arent they.
Mind you, I can remember Pheonix on Geoff Crammands GP1 - that was quite cool. Although less so on Mr Sennas monaca GP 2 on the Mega Drive (roflol), whereby I would smash into a suprisingly hard tire wall on the first corner. (Following which, sickeningly ironic as it is, your front tire would bounce over your car :()

Anyway, we'll see what happens I suppose :)

My thoughts go out to the marshalls family

the indy race is 1/2 on the oval 1/2 on a street circuit!
