show me a thread where i whined about loosing a fight, getting rolled over, being solo & getting zerged, missing grapple i dont think u will find 1. I dont mind loosing or dieing its part of the game and my epenis doesnt need stroking and i dont consider myself leet.

U will find loads of threads where i post flames i.e loads AoD we dont zerg posts etc or i made 20k solo today

This thread is about RvR and my main point being that GOA would rather waste (imho) resources on pve events that a small minority attend rather than investing in getting the lag (which is not their problem?, 900 odd people on server primtime and we get lag!!) sorted and sorting out clustering once and for all, and be damned if u question them

The nice thing about online games is you can make a right ass of youself by not knowing the person your talking about, a few Years ago mine was in triple figures (When i was 18 and tried joining the RAF..someone needed to learn how to drive ) but spelling sucks on forums in general due to typing 90% of my posts while i'm working (guys can't multitask well )

Merino's post was constructive. Zenythe replied saying that the event couldn't be changed and that two of his suggestions were contradictory (More notice of events, but the danger that enemies will take advantage of events for RvR raids). Merino seemed to take this onboard and from his follow up post seemed happy with the answer. You seem to have an issue with it for some reason.

Event turn out is always very variable. For recent events we've had aver 150 players per server. It's not possible to predict the interest in an event beforehand so we run them every fortnaight and see who wants to turn up. If the entire realm is there, that's great. If four players turn up we'll run it for them. The people who take part in events come from a broad slice of the community, roleplayers and hardcore RvRers all take part and generally the response is very good. Look at the recent threads regarding Alb and Mid Catacombs events for proof of this.

Understood completely and personally i think GOA do a good job on the whole - the only issue i see as needing addressing QUICKLY is the server clustering question - to cluster or not to cluster.
Catacombs is a shot in the arm but it wont boost the playerbase permenantly i doubt.
Also he's right about the birmingham exchange - do some tracer tests next time you get problems.Asking them to be responsible for the connection path to the server is like saying when youre in your car you want only smooth clear roads with no traffic accidents/holdups on them - shit will happen and sometimes you will get caught in traffic.

If you were trying to push them to "sort out" clustering and lag issues (which if im not mistaken dont come from the servers but from the lines which they use? something to do with the company owning go being a major internet provider in france so they use the lines that the parent company ownes and have no other choise) you wouldnt use this language.

2. This bit is much more interesting and highlights a fundamental problem. I assume that GoA cannot work on the code to reduce lag - whether they can or wish to analyse the software and make suggestions to Mythic is another matter. (Programs exist to do this) If they do the question then is would Mythic be prepared / able to do anything about it? Even Blizzard have / have had lag issues despite the team of 500 artists working with big polygons, the massive stress test, server locations etc. Mythic have 'simply' licensed a graphic engine so the chances are they can't / are unable to do anything about the performance.

I have a 'graphic' memory of entering Camelot for the first time after SI had been released.All those shiny helmets ..... they sure as hell didn't help ease lag related issues.

And at the moment it doesn't look good in the US as the clustered servers have created a whole raft of lag issues.


And one final point - if Jupiter is seriously thinking about leaving then maybe Prydwin is dying. The general tone of this thread certainly gives that impression. As for people telling others to leave - sheesh - with an average population under 300 and a current peak of little over 600 the server can't afford to lose anybody.

As Requiel said though you can decline the T&Cs when you log in. Of course what Requiel forgot to say subsequently is that you also have the right to cancel. Pity about that.

What strikes me most from this thread? It looks to me a lot like Requiel has tried many times to answer the same questions to the same people over and over again, Surely that must become a little tiring?

If a customer service representative in a store kept having the same person come up to him saying "I don't like this blue jacket I bought from you. Why isn't it red?" and kept replying with "sorry, but the manufacturer only provides us with blue jackets" eventually, he's going to get a tad fed up and say something like "well if you don't like blue jackets, stop buying the fucking things!" I applaud Requiel wholeheartedly for his restraint in this matter.

Hello there,

I often have a problem when I've just ported within 1 zone.. sometimes it also happens at other times, but what happens is my L and P icons turn red, and I cannot send anymore data. Receiving data from the server is no problem however. This also occurred before NF.
Is this a known problem that can occur sometimes with some configurations?

My system is as follows:
MSI K8N neo-platinum
AMD 64 3200+
1024 MB pc3200 Ram
ASUS V9570 /TD 256MB videocard (GF FX5700 GPU)
Windows XP SP1
Cable modem 4mbit down, 0.5mbit up behind USR router

I've found out that it is either my router (US-Robotics 808054 Wireless Turbo Accesspoint & Router) or my firewall (Zonealarm Pro 5.5.062)

Will let you know if I've found a fix so you know that if someone else comes up with thesame problem

it is not zonealarm, nor the router.
It's the onboard NIC.
I haven't yet found out if it's the driver or the hardware, but I've got no more problems when running with another network card, made by SMC.

will let you know if I find out if it's related to the used driver.

It's a simple change of the <checksum offload> setting in
Network Connections >> Properties >> Configure >> Advanced tab >> Checksum offload. Gotta be set to disable

PS. Please... before adding any autoreply in the future, read all the posts in a thread, because I had an autoreply to change my vid driver, installing DX9.0c, and VIA drivers, and I don't have any graphic problems, don't have a via chipset and I already had DX9.0c (all you could've seen if you actually read the dxdiag I sent you on your request, and read the posts I made here). and also the autoreply on how to set up the firewall/router is totally useless since it does work on another ethernet card so it cannot be any of those options.
Anyway I am not satisfied with how you guys over there dealt with this problem. Had good experiences with you before, but this [send random autoreply] solution you seem to using at the moment is not worth the money I pay for this Customer Support.

Well dunno if this is off topic or not but i just went into One of the major gamestores in Paris just to check if allready there would be any info on Catacombs like poster,.. hell i dont know what else.

To my surprise there was nothing. If release date is still somewhere in march this makes me bit scared tbh. Will people from Goa start their campaign as fast as when they post events on daoc site???? Only thing you could see was WOW all over.

But hey still not freaked out i went and asked the clerc if he had any info on Catacombs. The guy looked at me as if i was a troll in tights tbh. He never ever heard bout Catacombs. So hey lets ask him if there are perhaps some copies of Toa or even any DAOC game left. He looked it up in his pc and the last shipment they had was september. :eek2:

So plz requil Give some good news now plz or should i go get my copy of WOW right now?

P.S. Good news involves release date, start of marketing campaign, info on clustering,... well everything you would like to hear if you would be a depresed customer tbh.

The general lack of info is getting a little frustrating, i love the game but im now getting to the stage where im close to cancelling accounts. No way im re-rolling on other servers and Prydwen seems destined to end up as a dead server. Alot of people i know are only hanging around until catacombs comes out to see if it will have a positive effect but if it doesn't and clustering takes another few months then its basically finished.

I've tried to stay positive about things but it just seems to be drifting by and people are telling me Game (Uk's biggest game's store) wont be stocking catacombs? if something as big as that wont sell it, god knows how any new players will be coming in. I get the feeling the english servers have always been seen as a sort of 'side' project and i cant see anything changing. In general GOA has done well but they really need to take some action unless they dont mind the loss of revenue from their english servers when the majority stop playing (in a few months unless anything drastic happens).

If they released patches on english services earlier then im sure there wouldn't be any problems population wise. The very servers that need the people are suffering cos of the wait it takes for translations to take place on servers that are currently fine. Obviously GOA doesn't want to upset the french\german players but frankly something needs to be done.

I never thought I would even take wow seriously. I went agains't my own inner will and tried it for a cupple of days. And I see more positive things about it than negative.

All I have to say I regret I didn't give up daoc and bought wow earlier. Yeah, I decided to order it. This was after less than 2 days of playtime.

I really tried to give daoc a chance, the incredible lack of balance in the game, the lag and mostly the diminishing population has finaly caught up to me.

No matter if the load on my wow server. I havn't gone linkdead once or even noticed lag even during the few occations I had over 600ms latency.


imo, Mythic should hire another company to handle their daoc servers + game support etc. Even if they did the game is slowly dying.

Dunno if this was relevant, just thought I should say my opinnion.

Goa giving hib underpopulation bonuses again when its clear they dominate RvR only 48 hibs vs 15 albs just now at beno..aha yes I forgot you dont play the English servers, so why should you care how bad RvR is. Also Under population meaning if I want any RvR I have to go to the zerg riddled place where every noob and his pet is ready to zerg me 50v1 because when theres 600 players on primetime im screwed unless I want to camp docks and bridges..and then the stealth zerg gets me.

Wake up and smell the beans GOA...because prydwen is fucked and you dont seem to give a shit, your not helping anyone by giving hiberna bonuses..and anyone that denys hib is dominating is painfully blind.

I logged on last night and was about 5 fg Albs running around zerging everything (Friday night). You probably weren't online then. Ran a fg, zerged to oblivion every fight. Mainly same happened tonight. Mids relic raided so think Hib bg reacted. Wasn't involved tho, bot was in bg from scathaig.
