Well the GM in PE thinks it's OK to use own guild channel for that information so why can't Bjel do the same in his?

yeah all the albs knew somone had said somthing on IRC while they were still in the pk, roughly the time when lots of peeps went ld , i think it was laird or somthing that spotted it on IRC , and the only peeps that weren't in apk was PE and they where in odins clearing the way.

Apart from the IRC chat the fact Odins lags like hell, an odd 6+ fg reported at AMG by a nightshade was enough info to me (personally) Albs tried a RR on Midgard.

Im a Hib and I knew about the RR before I even went to Odins (I asked the NS how Odins was, because Emain was booooooring) and he said 6+ fg Albs.

Using IRC for passing through info is abit lame, but you cannot stop it.

Alliances can even make a channel where only few members from the /as can enter and relay info quickly through that. Nobody would know it from the outside.

You cannot stop it, thats for sure.

Blaming the failure on IRC is abit easy tho. Raid failed because of the fact it went way too slow in my opinion. If a Hib knows that Albs are in huge numbers in Odins BEFORE they hit even Jamt I think a Mid can know it too. And then its all about a matter of time, how fast can you organize a defense party.

The fact you stood at the Relic-keep and had no clue about rams etc etc (like an Alb said in here) is only a clue that even without IRC-blabber the raid would have failed most likely.

Salute to the Albs for trying a prime-time raid tho (like the Mids did few days ago on us).

Most IRC users have registered their names, and 75% of IRC users never logout (I think ).

when albs found out somone had blabbered on IRC about the relic raid, i think it was rharcyn that said "could be a hoax, we'll go along as planned"

so of course mids would have known we were comming before we got to jamt,anyways

i think most of the albs that where at apk when the mention of somone on IRC talking about relic raid heard this they knew it wouldn't be a success, i know cos i felt the same way when i heard it and thought , well thats the relic raid f*cked may aswell go along and i may be able to gain some rp before i die.

And yes think it sucks that people need to use IRC to report about raids, but many mid raids have been screwed over by IRC blabber.

I believe i recall a certain /as message saying something like 5fg albs a5 apk...and then loads of albs at amg from someone (may be wrong) in which case it didnt matter if we knew...by time u got from apk to your keeps (at no speed i guess) we could have already got half decent defense together.

I know IRC sucks but try not to blame the whole thing on it....every rr gets blabbed on (almost all) but some are successful and you should ignore IRC and try to fight.

Imo i think it was albs bad luck which caused this...ld's and guard aggro etc..otherwise a very cool plan i may say...i mean u got rambo and his lil buddies outta emain...u bribe him with money??

I said the exact same thing on our /as when people reported getting killed by a fg of alb stealthers (with Rambo in it)

We where so curious about the fact that Rambo was in odin we decided to go check it out....
....and ran into a group of 5 hib stealthers :lol:

When i seen Rambo and co at amgo ... then 4 fgs tbh i reported it on /as then another sb saw 100+ albs (what was said over as) we knew what was going down ,no irc here

mate that doesn´t change the fact that the raid was on IRC before anyone left APK. you might have a sb around the base noticing the lag, I don´t know, matter of fact is SOMEONE used IRC to warn mids

This is why i dont even use IRC, i think its enough wih ingame chats. But albs/mids/hibs are using IRC, and have warned eachother on IRC before and will do it again.

From most of the posts I seen here mids knew about RR before it got onto irc. And even when it got onto irc it was on a gu channel. What's wrong with announcing the fact that a rr is taking place on irc (gu channel) when it's already circulating through as many /gu and /as chats as possible. Like some guy said earlier, you never phoned your mates to tell em a relic raid is going on?

This doesn't sound like a case of someone spying and then letting the cat out of the bag before the RR had started properly.
