didnt some alb do a mistell to his public irc guild channel (instead of their private channel), saying something like "remember guys, 90 mins to relic raid"?
[thats what i heard in my RvR group from someone that was in the channel, however i figured it might just be a fake attempt at deception, and my group and me continuted RvR'ing in Hadrians, untill alliance chat and guild chat's said 112 enemies in odins.]

I had a preatty good idea there was a relic raid going to happen at said day when a alb on irc in a prominent alb guild asked in mainchat for a paladin and a cleric for the guildgroup at the relicraid tonite :X

psh. this is why you organise relic raids for 2am whenever ive been to a relic raid defence that has been in prime time (10:00am to 10:00pm :E) the attackers have always failed, and all the relic attacks ive been to at prime time failed too.
the most succesful raid i ever went on was back b4 SI when alb took 2 relics off midgard in a rr that was a spotanious decision one night and carried out in the early hours of the morning. nowhere near as much planning went into that than it takes to do a primetime raid, and all it cost was a few hours sleep

To be precise -
2 Waves of Relics Raids left on Friday 17th October,
7pm and Midnight musters.
Both raids were leaked on IRC.
The 1st reported while most albs were having server troubles while inside APK (i.e. before we'd actually done anything, and well before patrols or action was seen at amg).
The 2nd reported by a group of Hibs who were very smartly wiped out at AMG (no mids were in sight as the gate had been well TS Scout cleared for a full 30 mins prior to launch).
We do in fact know exactly who was responsible for both transgressions (3 players implicated in total, 1 Mid, 2 Hibs - Oldskoolers who should know better). <shrugs>
All realms are guilty past and present, personally, it doesn't effect my strategy when planning raids, nor overall my motivation to carry on executing them. I'm far too an auld campaigner to get phased at any point.
But I do wonder how this effects the many more people would like to give the most public aspect of the game a try, but simply don't like the penalty caused by so few.
Now aside from the fact that it's a rare, rare raid that doesn't get announced on IRC at some point, to have it spread and people prepared to defend before significant action is NOT what we're trying to achieve, and this applies as always to all 3 realms. A prime time raid, with only the luck of avioding patrols, or the skill of enemy sneak reports is still a dream raid for people starting out on their first relic command (Addlcove was trying for his first time with the 7pm wave). Win or lose it doesn't matter then, as it leaves the most amount of players (400+ with 2 realms) satisfied that they honestly tried their best on a fair playing field.
Sad loss when people feel it's their 'duty' to ruin a game for 100-200 players who take the time to turn up, let alone the organisation behind wiped out in an instant, reguardless of realm.
To quote Mythic directly, on as far as I can see their only stance on IRC and other 3rd party coms usage -
2) As long as no other policy is broken (such as cross-teaming, spying, DAoC client hacking, etc…), then the use of external communication devices is acceptable.
3) We discourage the use of these types of devices, as we do feel that they give an advantage when used in RvR against people who are not using these types of devices. We feel that this violates the spirit of the game.
But that's about all they care to say on they subject, the ambiguity is classic, but I have at least one US Server GM who has successfuly chased up one massive spy leak. Namely a 5am Relic Raid with 10fgs waiting to defend the relic keep before muster even begins.
Now the 1st incident is to be classed as spying, for how else does any leaked info (lots of one realm gathering in a border keep, or unwise /as usage) get reported by the enemy realms players? The 2nd, cross-realm teaming, as it was totally unnecessary for the realm not involved in the battle to spill the beans.
Benefit of the doubt has been given in this instance, as far as we are aware neither of the 3 players caught out have done this before, but you can be sure there will be no second chances, so engage brains before keyboard in future, you're marked well already.
So once again, business as usual, but hopeful that things can only improve, and hey, at least were not as bad as the US servers, take heart Battle Brothers and Sisters

Whatever happened we will not know but still I can't see the fun in spying and arranging fights to get rps.
I don't think you can be proud in reaching a high realm rank like this. Besides don't you think everyone knows it.
To all those who do it, don't spoil this game, move to another game where no roleplaying is involved and leave this game to what it is.
As for goa : I think they knew things like that would happen since they allowed to have as many account as you wish.
So its not only IRC but also those who are playing in different realms on the same server.

I said in #daoc.prydwen around 10pm ish after everyone knew about it something like "lol mids the relics are a bit too hot to handle aren't they" after hearing they or someone droppped it or something
Then i got banned by ardrias and unable to contact him lol just for that even tho had others speak about it before me yet ardrias looks other way lol.
So I see one OP in daoc.prydwen is very strict on it at least ... or is it just me
