The primary advantage of a stealth class is the ability to pick and choose your fights mostly. You have the luxury of being able to wait in stealth during a fight for your moment to attack (if youre adding), a caster/tank/healer/whatever has to either attack or withrdaw and cant be too picky about when he does either.

Example - if im going for a caster i know is a very tough kill with his RA's up (e.g. brite/maeloch) i usually stalk them a little bit in the hope that they'll burn some of their RAs on killing people first.

The being able to "pick your fights" thing is a total misconception these days. It might have been so in classic when stealthers were difficult to level so there were few around and 1/2 shotting most classes was a common occurance.

Nowadays the frontiers are packed full of stealthers and as previously stated you will be figthing other stealthers 95% of the time.

Anyway enough said, the thread quickly turned into a "real" classes versus "cowardly stealthers" debate, which is not what was intended.

Both kinds require skill and judgement to play (even warlocks to a certain degree) so i dont see the issue as a valid one tbh.
