If you don't give a fuck about my family how can you expect me to give a fuck about yours ?

I Posted my honest opinions which shows that i do care to atleast to talk things over like an adult without getting pissy

I honestly hope you have a good night and all goes well but seriously
Wanna show examples?

No because i cba to quote what already has been said, if you don't want to see it quoting it won't make any difference, im not here to argue with you as i have posted on your forums for years and i appreciate the medium it provided to interact with friends, i just don't like double standards or it's my ball im going home attitudes.

That's gonna be my final word on it, i hope you have a great time

It's just totally weird for most people that a woman is asking her dad to accompany her to a nightclub for her 18th.

It is quite rare to see and doesn't show that your family is tight at all, different yes... but maybe she knows her friends wouldn't like it and you would like it or something :p

I'm not following any of this. Surely she's said that even tho' her dad doesn't want to take her to a club she still wants to spend her birthday with him? Doing something else.

P.s I read about a flash hotel where you could go for a very swish weekend breakfast/brunch with all the works. Champagne the lot. All you could eat set price but very smart. Remember it was expensive but can't for the life of me remember the name of the hotel. Must've been in something like Sunday Times mag and the foodie writer really rated the whole experience. He took a few hours over it.

You realise Fabric is full of people like me, circa 2003/4? Still go there now every now and then, although obviously not for the soulless house music nights. ;)

I think you'd be ok there on a house night with her. It's a friendlier, slightly older crowd. I'd advise you don't take her to any of the DnB/dubsteppy type nights though as your head will rage into a massive implosion. Although these nights are typically better.

T - has she ever been to Fabric? I am guessing not... she probably just wants to know what its like, not necessarily spend a whole evening there. I would arrange to come to London, hop on the Eye as it is great, grab a drink in somewhere posh, go to Fabric for an hour or so 'just for the experience' and then go and treat her to her favourite food somewhere fabby.

Fabric's too large for just an hour, there's three rooms. If it's your first time you won't have even figured out the layout in a hour.

It took me about 2 hours to work out the layout of fabric and where the fuck I was

I still think most of you are doing a grand job of missing the point.

Try a good meal to start, up the top of One New Change (Right next to St Paul, so wicked views) Is a proper nice restaurant! (I did some of the roofing information for the project) It's quite pricey but the food is top notch, plus you get some wicked views of St Pauls! Might be a bit cold this time of year though!

There is a restaurant by Gordon Ramsey & Jamie Oliver on the lower floors also, they are also wicked!

There are some wicked bars in the city also if you wanna obviously get plastered, try a night time trip on a river boat or on the London eye? Maybe grab some Champange for it too?!

There's a billion things to do in London without hitting a club, if you go out on a Thursday you could take her late night shopping (shops are open till about 10 iirc.)

Not sure really! I guess there's a few suggestions!

No real decision to be made, you gave her a choice and she chose you. She then expressed a desire to go to some club.

So take her to the club. I'm sure there's loads of other things, meal, show, you can do beforehand. Maybe take along your son aswell that way, when you hit the club between the two of you she always has a go to guy! My daughters 4 and I'm dreading the day you are about to experience :p whatever happens, you love her and she loves you, her night will be perfect enough because you were there.

She wants to go clubbing with me, that is the point.

Take her then. Dance your arses off. Try not to be a terrible terrible letch with all the other young girlies but other than that - go for it :)

As for other blokes letching - part of life. Man up old bean, it's only the once ;)

Edit: You could always tell her that Daddy would feel horribly horribly uncomfortable and would turn into a giant massive arsehole, ruining the evening?

Daughters and motehrs in nightclubs all the time.
Fathers and daughters should have the same privilage, if someone thinks it's weird, f*ck em. Not literally, don't go bending suitors over a bar Deebsy :p

It's best to explain to her why it would be weird for you, but at the same time say that it's her day and if she wants her daddy at the club, then her daddy will bloody well be at the club.

If she gets why you dun wanna, then a nice shopping trip in london, some local activities(zoo? amusement park? Childish but why the heck not) is good and well.

It sounds like she wants to be daddys lil girl one more day before having to grow up, so treat her to that.

About specifics, hard to say without knowing her; the nose knows ;) Maybe go buy out some house albums or such, something you know she likes.

Or just buy her shoes and a pony.

From what I can glean, Deebs' daughter realises how lucky she is. And, I mean this in the nicest possible way, she knows she has struck gold having such a daddy! (I do not mean in the financial sense). I think she'll be very happy whatever you decide to do!

All hail Deebs and how close he is with his daughter/family.

There, is that the point of the thread?

what about taking her out shopping and cinema/tourist attraction in the afternoon and then book a table for dinner for you, her, your son and a few of her mates (If you are able to invite them) and then you can all have a few drinks and a nice time and head home, or she'll get a bit tipsy and decide she wants to head out with her mates in which case you give her a few notes so she can enjoy herself, head home, put your feet up, have a cup of tea, and revel in a father's job well done.

Feck me!! the girls made up her mind - spend the day with her dad!!! - why are there so few that can accept that?
Sorry I cant recommend much to do in London Deebs, but whatever you do decide to do then I hope you BOTH have a great day. Wish I was as close to my girl as you are with yours - my role is the taxi driver taking her wherever she wants to go but never invited in.

Make sure you save as many menories as you can m8

If that Fabric is anything close to the romanian counterpart (yeah, there's one over here aswell), it's obviously a place where we 30+ people don't really belong.

I've been there like 2 years ago, and it sucked immensely. That is not music, it's just noise - and loud noise at that.

However, if it was my daughter and she'd want me to go with her, I would endure it and please her. 18th bday is a special day.

I've been to Fabric, can't imagine anyone going there with their dad, that would be so incredibly weird imo

Tone,
How about the whole west end thing. Day of shopping, maybe new dress/ jewellery like lara suggested, Slap up meal, decent show with awesome seats (or even get a box) maybe posh hotel for the night.
Like you've said re clubbing if she REALLY wants to go then just sit her down (not literally) and explain your POV. Tell her you'll take her but it might be a bit uncomfortable for you. If she still wants to go then do it mate. You could always do that last. Start with something else like theatre/shopping then hit a club at night.

Nonsense, I've seen numerous 40/50+ people at Fabric, the best one was some old 60+ Japanese guy in spangly sunglasses. Fuck age.
