its a wonder it can boot let alone ping another machine. The 2k machine is probably too embarrassed to connect to it.

All the more reason to have that as your firewall pc stick sysgate on it and put it in the corner.

Have you tried re-installing ICS on the W2K machine, in my experience this does tend to fix a lot of things ?

I'm not sure but in W98SE the ICS install creates a diskette that you use to configure othr machines as "clients", did you follow this through or use your own methods ?
