Hmm...seems to me that it is a mild case of 'clammy handed nerd boys' drooling over a good looking lass. Unless they are spamming her constantly in game and on the forum with marriage proposals and professing their undying love for her then what is the big deal?

Something like this hardly rates on the sexual harrassment scale. Yea, its annoying and probably bloody tedious/embarrassing for her but unless I am missing something other than the posts in that 'Guild Meet' thread then it looks to me like you are just making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Don't get me wrong; I don't like all this 'omfg!! girl! engage drooling mechanisms now' behaviour. I am constantly embarrassed by the other members of my gender but, quite frankly, get the f**k used to it. Unless society changes drastically and someone invents a wonder drug to curtail the effects of testosterone then you are always going to get this type of reaction on a forum or in an online game!

Thank you Ziera and everyone who participated in this thread.

It's true that as a woman I often get sexist comments. Some are funny, some less. I usually take all of them lightly and most as a compliment. Makes my life easier.

Though it's worth remembering not everyone is ok with that sort of behaviour so it's a point worth making.

Forums/MMORPGs give more freedom and you can get away with crap like that up to a point, But sometimes people forget they're talking to RL humans. On the other hand you have flirty female characters, which imo are best avoided. If someone wants that much attention -Hey! look at me I'm female IRL!! - Probably male IRL or not someone you ever want to meet :p


The character 'Tosens Mom', is infact Tosen's mother. What made me laugh was Tosen's lastname: NoMyMomIsNotHot - gives you an idea of how far some people will go :D

I was actually genuinely being complimentary about Medea's cooking. As several people (including Flesh) have noticed, judging from those rather uncomplimentary pictars I enjoy my food. My old man was a cook in the military, my mother is a head chef for a rather wealthy client-base active elderly person's home. I'm a god-awful cook, as Spesh and Artful could no doubt tell you ;p

Personally, I don't think complimenting someone's cooking is a sexist comment nowadays, what with the likes of Jamie Oliver etc etc. Hence making the comment in the first place.

ah yes cooking im very good at that... i made something myself once, but i never tasted it cuz i had my doubts about the ingredients, but it smelled really nice!!

- Pour some gas into a bowl

- Get some styrofoam and put it in the gas, until the gas won't eat anymore. You should have a sticky syrup.

- Put it on the end of something. The unused stuff lasts a long time!

Then why didn't you say, for example, that she was a cool person, or studying to be an engineer? It sounds as though the only things any of you noticed about her was that she was good looking and could cook. I realise it was unconscious, but ... it's not good. See?

I searched and searched to find the thread that enraged some females because of sexual herrasment.
I hope all this hasen't happened because of some comments in the thread with some RL pictures of a gathering of sorts.

Just have to love all the women that jump to protect good looking women that can also cook from all the attention they are getting from men especialy when they don't seem to need their protection in the first place.

Tsk tsk damn guys, don't you know that if you'r gonna compliment one women you have to compliment the other women that are around also?.... even if you don't meen it.

And girls if you are good looking you don't need to know how to cook, but if you do hide it from the other women because sometimes its the only thing they have in their favor.

Maybe because he wanted to compliment her on her cooking at that time? Since the food he enjoyed was a result of her cooking skills and not her coolness or study? If this is something people can get all sad about then individualism might've gone a bit too far...

I think this is a serious culmination of disturbing events.

I agree with Ziera, Tur and all the sensible ppl posting.

It usually doesnt matter if the girl in question is pretty to you or not once you find out theres a girl in the group or about you go a bit nutz like a group of little monkeys not knowing how to deal with the situation o-O.

Now what I think we can all agree on is you dont want to drive good players like madae from the server, so don't flipping freak them out.

Some of the ingame pm's these girls get are quite disturbing even for a bloke... so I'll say this in a language you will understand. PM abuzor to girl tis against coc u get fotm 4thewin perma-ban.

Like tur said for the record it is for the girl to decide what is abuse or not not the guy.

The problem we are discussing here is exactly the flooding of "compliments" to women (notice the plural), I am sorry that this has passed your head for so long and I do understand your confusion all things concidered.

and yes, one point about this discussion is exactly that, if you feel violated, report it to GOA. If you dont think it is serious enough to do anything about, neither will they. There is absolutely no reason you should ignore or get used to sexual herrassment, just report it.

you started a post with the title sorry Medea then proceed to insult people because as you say sexualy harrased a woman, others including myself wondered where and when this happened as this is a serious matter, it turns out that you are refering to the comments some made about Medea after seeing her in some pictures, others including myself believe you are totaly wrong...so someone must wonder why all the noise?

At the start i wondered if you assumed Medea was insutled or did she actually say something? Was this an outburst of someone who her friend was grievely insulted but couldn't react so she decided to protect her and accuse others in her behalf?

You claim to understand how serious sexual herrasment is, but all i see is a person that is willing to throw very serious accusations left and right, for what ever, personal, psychological reasons, oblivious to the harm you can do to others.

Frankly it is actions like this that have caused society to look upon sexual herrasment accusations with sceptisism, and women that report them as overeacting bitches, giving the oportunity to sick people to make the lives of others hell, by sexuall herrasment, or sexuall blackmail.
