A family member in which you desire loyalty and obediance over creativity and free thought?

Obviously you have met stupid dogs. Border Collies are the most intelligent and are infact the most loyal and VERY good family pets.

Cats:
Ooh... I'm gonna kick the shit out of you for stroking me.
Ooh... I'm gonna screech late at night with 5 other fucking cats.
Ooh... I'm gonna piss all over everything and make it smell fucking discusting.
Ooh... I'm gonna use this house for food then go next door for more.
Ooh... I'm gonna get in the most akward spots in the house.
Ooh... I'm gonna scratch my claws on your furniture.
Ooh... I'm gonna take a shit ANYWHERE I want in the house.
Ooh... I'm gonna hiss at everything.
Ooh... I'm gonna abuse you and use you for food.
Ooh... I'm gonna not give a shit if you disappear.
Ooh... I'm gonna do all of this and get away with it for being cute.

Fuck off. Cats are shit.

Errm what type of cats have you been with? Ones from hell?

My cat isnt like that at all.. never craped inside or peed.. does not scratch on the furniture .. I have never heard him hiss..and my cat doesnt go to other houses for food or love. He goes insane if he cant see me.. serching through the house meowing until he finds me.. hell he has to be in the bathroom while im taking a shower cause he hates being alone. He sleeps with me and does demand alot of attention. So its all down to the type of people who have the cat.
Most people think cats dont need much so they leave them outside and rub them as they pass by sometimes.. the cats like piss off... I would too :p Cats are much better then dogs.. end of story

No you retard. Do you like to have a sence of power over your cat? Do you have a cat because you can pick it up? Moron.

And I was talking about the big picture with all the breeds Dreama. Look at the picture and you'll see what I mean.

Now we're getting somewhere......
So why is your dog's loyalty worthy of comment?

BTW I don't have a cat

I have a staffordshire bull terrier and a cat, they get along OK, I like dogs and cats, both have good and bad points. Ekydus, I must say, you are very wrong on most of those things you said about cats though.

If I had to choose between my dog or a cat my dog would win hands down every time.

Not if your cat was 15 years old and you'd known it since it was born...

I've known my dog for 15 years and since it was born too. His mother was a pet in my family too. I have had about 3 cats during this time, the most recent of which was a stray. It used to ALWAYS sleep, or attack you when you went to pet or pick it up. It used to disappear without notice and meow and cry if we missed it's food by 15 minutes. Then one day it disappeared and didn't come back. As for cats screeching at night, where I live EVERY night there is atleast 2 cats hissing etc. When my dog is in the garden though he barks at them, then you hear them jump off of the fence and it goes quiet and I can sleep. God bless my dog.

There's your answer. Stray cats are always nasty bastards and they will just use you for food and water, I have scars down my right arm from a stray that attacked me once when I tried to stroke it, it was literally hanging from my arm lol.

Seeaira is totally right. It's all about the owner of the cat. My cat is 7 yrs old atm and doesn't do any of the things Ekydus mentioned. He does worry a lot about me and my mom tho. When one of us is ill or hurt he always comes to see what has happened and tryes to comfort me. He also demands lots of attention and when we go away for a while he's sad and when we return he's sometimes offended and will ignore us for a few hours. :)

And Dogs pwn aswell, just cba to go walking with one. sometmes i have to keep a dog in my hous till the owner comes back and walking with it is a pain. I mean wtf is so interesting about another dog's pile of shit?
