Hey gang!

I'm running out of films to acquire and watch, so I'm after input from you all on what's a good title some people may not have seen. I like action, crime and sci-fi or fantasy mostly, but if it's highly recommended I may even watch a drama or comedy, so see please if you can surprise me or others with some good suggestions :)

Get on the korean film bandwagon, tons of great films.

Here's a handy chart.

The list that @ECA put up is good but you must watch I Saw the Devil off it if nothing else @Jupitus. Trust me/us on that. Watch it tonight, watch it NOW!

Korean flicks aside, I'd also recommend The Raid: Redemption and The Raid 2. ( Indonesian cast , welsh director ).

Both fucking awesome films, if you liked the Dredd reboot you'll probably love them. Dredd largely "borrowed" it's premise from the raid.
The Raid 2 is different, it's much more of a thriller than a relentless action flick, but it's very very good.

Also, quite a few of the films on the korean chart I posted are on amazon prime, including I Saw the Devil.

I've not seen Raid 2 yet but Raid was outstanding. I started Raid 2 but fell asleep, it's long so I need to start again earlier in the evening pre beer.

Still haven't seen The Raid. Tried to watch it on Netflix, but for some reason it was in Bahasa without subtitles. Which was odd.

I assume you've seen all the decent sci-fi thats come out over the last few years (i.e. stuff like Moon, Sunshine, etc.)

The three colours trilogy by Krzysztof Kieślowski
Dark City - Alex Proyas

Soylent Green and Dark Star :)

Spirited Away isn't manga. Manga is a comic, anime is animated.

There's some confusion sometimes in the uk because Manga Entertainment distribute anime... which is dumb as fuck but w/e :p

I understood that the two films came up with the ideas independently (bloc war was always a thing in Dredd comics) but that the Raid just happened to come out first and did it better.
