They celebrated St. Patricks day yesterday in Sydney, so that people could make a good day of it.

Got to the city late and missed the parade, was left with the weekend market with a celtic feel and gaelic rock music -god it was awful.

All we wanted was some irish pubs and an excuse to drink! I could find two irish pubs in Sydney and they were packed to the rafters, not a chance of getting in.

Bah! :/

Harry Paddies day! . I'll be working in a pub tonight so I should still have a bit of a laugh. (I'm off alcohol for lent). I missed the parade yesterday coz I felt like shite and my grandma was in hospital(nowt major, she fell over).

Also St Patrick got rid of all the snakes in Ireland, coverted us all to catholics. Not bad for an englishman(iirc).

Also I remember when guiness used to give free guiness on paddies day.

St. George - Patron Saint of England

St. David - Patron Saint of Wales, boyo.


Over recent years there's been a bit of a movement to celebrate St. Georges day in the same way that we celebrate Paddy's day.

However, some fucking airy-fairy liberal wankers have managed to attach racist connotations to St George (and the flag) - mainly due to the fact that the BNP brandish the Cross of St. George about when they do their stuff "in the name of England" (the wankers).

Did you hear about when the Queen visited some market or something last week? They tried to stop people waving the Union Jack for fear of people branding it a racsist action. WTF?

You can't wave your country's own flag IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY without get branded a racist? PC gone too far? Hmmm I think so.

I've also heard of council's ordering people to remove Union Jack's from their front room windows for fear it would offend the minorities. What a feckin joke.

It seems saying you're proud to be British these days is seen as some radical racist statement.

Not that anyone really knows about what the Saints are meant to have done anyway, its just an excuse to spend money these days, bit like valentines day. What the hell, any excuse to have fun is good enough for me.

A house by the golf course I play at in Stoke was ordered to remove a Union Jack he had flying outside his house on the weekend of the golden jubilee by the council. You guessed it, someone complained.

Since then he has flown the Stars and Stripes, a Skull and Crossbones, a Swastika (yes you read that right), an Australian Flag and the ANC flag. Number of complaints?




Zero.

dont get me started....had a major rant at uni today cos i saw a 'careers guide for ethic minorities'.

I MEAN WTF....why should THEY get special treatment?
