Halo PC

is any1 getting Halo for the PC, is it better than Halo on the X-Box, jsut wondering, tight on money and wondering if I shud get it or not!! is there any other cool FPS's coming out soon??

I am not too impressed with Halo on the XBox.
The PC version will have better graphics thats for sure.


I'm waiting for Half Life 2 and Doom III

nah. seen the graphic in the xbox and unless they do alot of work i dont really want to get a game that looks that flat especially when Half life 2 is comming out with

They've improved the graphics for the PC version.
Also its online and theres 2 new weapons and the vehicles have been upgraded.
I prefer Halo to Half Life but each to his/her own.

Personally I am DEFINATLY going to buy Halo 2 - online will rock, believe me.
Its a really fun game.

Im still amazed by people who think that less than perfect graphics equals a poor game. Has anyone heard of storylines, gameplay, AI to name but three crucial elements.

Halo has great graphics.
Its pure fun throughout, my only gripe with it was that the levels tend to look a bit repetitive towards the end...you know..room after room that look the same.
Although saying that I have played thru it 5 times and also with other people in co-op mode which rocks.

Aye, and Halo's shit at all three of the above. It's a poor FPS game, a lot of work and change will have had to have been put in to sort the PC version out... it won't have happened, even though they've had 2 years.

Actually the opposite is true. Its a bit like watching porn once youve seen one multiple facial youve seen them all. However once in a while a rare gem pops out and you just cant help yourself from saying "WoW 1!"

Personaly a game has to have decent graphics for me to play or I just don't find it fun...

I mean, finaly fantasy7 has crap graphics compared with now, but back in the time they were great.. if you understand me ;(

Depends on when it's coming out. I'll definitely be getting Half-Life 2 (to the extent of having pre-ordered it), and I'll probably be getting Deux Ex 2 when it comes out (not sure when that is). If Halo fits nicely in-between those two, then there's every chance that I'll get myself a copy, as I seem to be one of the few people who hasn't played through it on the Xbox.

Halo is going to be fantastic. I don't think anything else on the PC will compare multiplayer wise. You PC gamers that don't like it just can't deal with how innovative it is

HL2 is obviously going to be great...and Call Of Duty looks like being an absolute stunna as well!

What was the last shooter on the PC that was any good? Really? I can't even think of one. Nothing has really advanced the genre since HL (Deus Ex isn't really a shooter, and BF1942 is OK).

Halo is just very, very different to a PC FPS, but the combat it offers is far, far beyond anything currently on PC. But you won't know that if you've played it for ten minutes and had a paddy 'cos you can't get used to the pad

Goldeneye is still better than most, if not all, PC shooters too imo.

I totally agree with Jonny, and the problems he was having in the women thread was the same as me....eerie.

Halo online will be so much fun. Get your squad inside a Warthog, drive along with the machine gunner at the back and someone firing from the driving seat .... then someone chucks a plasma grenade to the side of your vehicle...uh oh.

We should setup some matches once it comes out...I'm pretty sure this months PC Gamer mag has a Multiplayer Halo demo with it.

Max Payne is so repetitive. Dont know why people rated it so much. (Guess that matrix mode was cool for a bit)

MoH : AA rocked, the next installment rocks too.

Didnt really get into Deus Ex..is it a fps? rpg? Cant decide!
Same with System Shock 2 - didnt really play it.

Halo was so well received because its not very often that shoot em up's cause such a stir on a console. Also remember Halo was originally under development for PC about 3 years ago, before X-Box was even released and when you play it you can see how it is similiar to pc shoot em ups.

It will have a tougher time on PC...lots more competition but I bet it does well, of course Half Life 2 will overshadow it.

Damn another new post everytime I finish my last one.

Those sticky grenades are just so fun! When I'm playing with my brother I love throwing one on his head then running away. Or throwing one on the little grunts who then run into there friends wiping out around 4 enemies.

It gets annoying when your playing co-op and your partner runs right into the area where you've just thrown a grenade and then blames you for being clumsy, though.

I didn't get the sticky aspect at first, thought they were just rubbish grenades, then I was on a plateau taking out covenant scum with my team and I heard one of them start screaming. "Oh God My Eyes! My Eyes!" Looked at him and he's got this sticky blue stuff all over his face. He legged it down the hill blindly and it just blew his head off.

Isnt it strange how every member of your team is from a different place around the world.
Listening to the voices I count English/American/Mexican and countless others.

I hope in Halo 2 your team are more helpful..I usually just end up hitting them with my weapon rather than have them following me saying stupid stuff.

lol well even allowing for personal choices I fail to see how you can claim that Half Life was the last "good" shooter for the PC. Personally I think Half Life was over-rated myself, certainly from a multiplayer aspect, but there you go.
