Well I'm all for good looking websites. As the people I was going to use my spare vb license are as apathetic as a wet flannel, I feel it should go to some better use.

Its also a nice CMS :) I'll drop him a line when I get some time. Also will write on the AR website when I get some time, busy :(

I'll Drop by the site, and let the others know about it.

We kinda specialise in Small team RvR... kinda like a roaming gank squad / special forces unit (at least we like to think of ourselfves in that way :p) We can zerg with the best of em when required, but enjoy the smaller scale pvp far more.

And Roo - Would be good to see you around fella. (As well as some of the other old names!)

Also might not be around for the next beta, (since i am getting married that weekend :p) will be around for launch though.

In our alliance events, we have 2 - 4 dedicated group(smallman teams) which main purpose is scouting and killing of enemy small forces before they are able to reach the zerg. We also to divided tactics where we divide our alliance in 2-3 main forces, and work our way around the map.(This confused the hell out of the two other servers, and their main forces only went for one of our groups.)

Sounds good.

Me and my buddies did a similar thing for our alliance in WAR and DAOC - our 5 man group was tasked with harrasment, scouting, and reinforcment interceptions.

Just roaming the maps wherever there were smaller tasks that needed seeing to. We got quite good at it in the end after playing together for a few years in DAOC and WAR

Then I don't see the reason not to use this kind of experience in our favour! And this is also why we want more of the FH community to come join us, and this is the previous experience within open world PvP, also how a structured alliance works.

Doubt there is a open beta, the next and last BWE before release is at 20-22 july. So you might just have to borrow a account from someone :)

The next, and almost certainly last, BWE is on 20-22nd July 2012. You either need to have pre-purchased (not just pre-ordered) or pick up a key for this (not a prior one) BWE from a fan site to have access.

One such fansite currently is: http://www.guildwars2guru.com/

There's this:

Asura and Sylvari races playable in final Guild Wars 2 beta
by Elisabeth Cardy on Jul 9th 2012 9:00AMBetas, Fantasy, News items, Guild Wars 2, Races, Dev Diaries0

We know Guild Wars 2's release date. We know when the last beta weekend will take place. Now, the last great mystery has been answered. A blog post scheduled to go live later this morning (link coming soon) details the changes that ArenaNet has in store for the beta schedule for July 20th to 22nd. Spoiler alert: The Sylvari and Asura will be playable!

Previous beta weekends gave players access to the home cities and two explorable zones apiece for the Humans, Charr, and Norn, as well Lion's Arch and Gendarran Fields. In the upcoming beta, the last two playable races will also be open for exploration. Like the other races, Sylvari and Asura characters will see personal story content up to level 20 and access to their respective capital cities, the Grove and Rata Sum. In addition, a new Guild-Conquest PvP map will be available for playtesting.

If you've always wondered what sort of city snarky magitech geniuses would build or have been waiting for ever to play as a humanoid plant, your time is now.

Was basically looking at thief, elementalist or mesmer/necro!

Can imagine there will be hundreds of elementalists though!

Maybe in the WvW part yeah(seeing that they are dominant on the AoE part). But there aint many elementalists I've seen on the sPvP server! And what Carl told me, it's quite handy to have a good & dedicated elementalist with us on the tournaments. Thiefs I can't say much about, but tried mainly a Mesmer myself and I got to love the damage burst they can do.

Carl would probably kill you if you went for a necromancer :p

I guess theif would be similar to rogue in WoW, will probably head down that route, i'll give both a try beta weekend i guess!

how are you for rangers ?

As of now I don't think we have one that will play a ranger for certain. Even tho, most have yet to decide what to play(What we will see during this beta). You'd want to play ranger?

Currently toying with Engie, Necro or Warrior.

Played Warrior in WvWvW and found that I got slaughtered by AoE effects when trying to melee anyone. In smaller fights without aoe, murdering 2 people was fairly easy.
Bow on a warrior feels fairly wimpy :p

Mostly during our WvW time we've been Engie, Ele and a Guardian. Which seemed to work fairly well.

well I tried the elementalist in the first BWE and it was ok for me in pve but I found people could move out of my dmg'ing abilities in pvp; so for a 2nd BWE I tried ranger and got futher into it being a bit more of a single target dps toon. There's still professions I havent tried( working the last BWE so probably cant anyway) but there are things that appeal to me as a ranger :p

Played mostly Mesmer in WvW myself, quite fun. But in sPvP I am with my guardian, and with the def spec that Carl posted on the forum its insane. I can hold a point with 2-3 people none-stop throwing their all at me and still survive.

I just renamed the guardian elite to "god mode", and I bet it will be nerfed :p

Just realised I has these, thought some people might like to see what milegates, keeps and seige stuff looks like. This was literally the only pvp I did except a couple arena's, just ran out there after ding'ing lvl7 or so to see what its like :p I gave up on diablo3 ages ago and sticking to fps's for now till gw2 release so I go in fresh and enthusiastic.

Cheers for the pictures, it looks pretty fun i better get a copy preordered so i can join the next BWE :) I read somewhere that the game was not really using graphics cards during these events is that true?

Not sure. I do know my i5 760 was running at 100% during the bwes and stress tests. Normally i'd get 60-70 fps with a few people around. In pvp when it got busy it would drop to 10-20 fps, but still quite smooth/playable.

Have a 560Ti, 8Gb ram and GW2 on a SSD.

Yeah i read that it was using CPU's to full load, rather than using the graphics cards might by why a lot of folk say their fps dropped when the pvp got busy.

The first BWE was a pain in the ass for both the CPU and GPU. But they are still optimizing the game, and BWE2 the restrain on my CPU was ALOT less! They are going to optimize the GPU now for the next BWE again, and then on for the release.
